Re: Got my refund

Post by Jason R » Oct 20th 2002, 7:44 pm

FarrelGirl78, I am glad to hear this!

Did your credit card grant the refund, or was it AU?

Tomorrow, I am emailing all people waiting for refunds or double bill corrections. If they have not been refunded, I am asking them to submit a complaint to the FBI at http://www.ifccfbi.gov, cross referencing my complaint: IFCC-I02101510303033.

If you are reading this now and waiting for $$$, you might as well get a head start.

I got a confirmation e-mail last october 14th by Mike but didn't believe him. I filed a dispute with my CC company and sent my e-mails that I had kept since last february to them. I just checked my report online and I finally got a refund, well I mean 2. First the $20 US and second the $79.98 US (which for me is more than $160 CAN). Right now, I have no idea if it is from VISA or AU but I would say VISA. I will call them to have more informations. I am just so happy that my nightmare is over. I can finally forget about it but don't worry I will still be checking the board because I still believe AU is a fraud and I want everyone to get their money back. Right now, it is the most important thing!

Good luck everyone
Dominique

I have no idea Jason if my refund is from VISA or AU. I just see that the comicstore.com has put $20 US and $79.98 US back on my credit card. Right now, I cannot access my CC informations online because my report says it is not available for the moment but I will call VISA to see if the money is from AU or my dispute. Unless a miracle happened, I would doubt it was AU but who knows!

According to my drygrass.com record, it looks like AU have done jacksh*t for quite some time. This is people's hard-earned cash that they are stealing.

Define stealing? I take something from you without permission and when you ask for it back, I keep it. To me, that is stealing.

I am glad that credit cards seems to be forcing the refunds. I am hopeful that the FBI complaint will result in a fraud investigation, which might make it easier to get a refund under some cards' fraud coverage.

If you got 2 refunds, it was your CC company reversing the original charges. I cancelled through Drygrass and left a phone message, but haven't received any indication AU has done squat with my case. I also have the emails from day one, and am prepping a cover letter for the CC company. I'll also be including Jason's latest email as further proof.

The question that arises is where is all this money going to end up coming from? Is someone here more familiar with the procedures for chargebacks? As I understand it our credit card companies will initiate the process by debiting the merchant account AU has at authorize.net for the amount we're disputing plus a service charge per chargeback.

What happens when AU's authorize.net account runs out of money/hits the maximum credit? Who gets stuck with the final bill? I'm sure that crook Ross has already moved our money somewhere else so no one can find/touch it.
