Re: An Oral History of My So-Called Life

Thank you for posting this article. Hanging out with Tom Irwin and the other members of the cast watching Apocalypse Now on laser disc sounds like a good time.

Bess Armstrong on Mad Men (2012)

Bess Armstrong appears in Mad Men, episode 506, as a psychologist/party host. It seems being a native of Baltimore doesn't hurt one's chances of getting on the show. http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainme ... 3895.story

Re: What's on your bookshelf?

I'm currently listening to Go Down Together by Jeff Guinn. The book is a new one about Bonnie and Clyde. Their real lives were much different that what's been portrayed in the movies. I had been listening to The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It was interesting, but I kind of lost the urge to finish list...

Re: The So-Called Word Association

Am I sensing sarcasm TomSpeed?? I didn't mean to be sarcastic. I truly did not remember the line about bisque in the show or know that bisque is a color. The fact that the writers used bisque in its proper context is kind of neat. I also found the explanations from Candygirl and you to be enlighten...

I try not to miss Weeds, True Blood, and Lost. I also like Nurse Jackie, which comes on after Weeds on HBO on Mondays. Nurse Jackie stars Edie Falco from the Sopranos.

Re: What are lifers listening to these days?

I've been listening pretty heavily to female vocalists: Nancy Sinatra, Mirah, the Donnas, to name a few. Even though she came on a bit before my time, Nancy Sinatra's music, personality, looks, and general vibe presses my buttons. I've also been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash's songs, esp. his li...

Re: Few questions

The town name Three Rivers appears on the policeman's uniform in "Pilot." Often, when a person lives in a suburb or bedroom community of a major city, he or she will associate himself/herself with the major city, since this city is much more well known. Three Rivers is part of Greater Pittsburg.

Thank you for educating me on off-white colors and weddings. Maybe I won't roll my eyes as much as I would have being a manly man if/when the topic comes up in the future. Also, I have a greater appreciation for the show. I never thought to look up the meanings for bisque until now.
