(ANGELA and RICKIE wander slowly.)

RICKIE: (looks at watch) Ah, I don't think I'll bother. I mean, class is like, half over now. Why bother going?

ANGELA: I don't know. Foster sounded pretty angry. What if he checks to see if we're in class. My parents will, like, haemorrage if they think I'm skipping all my classes.

RICKIE: (looks worried) Yeah. Better go. I don't want him to try to contact to my parents. Cause that, would, like, lead to complications.

ANGELA: Yeah. Does he, like, know. That you're staying with Mr Katimski?

RICKIE: Probably not. I'd say. I mean, it's only temporary or whatever.

ANGELA: What did you tell him, in the bathroom?

RICKIE: (laughs) I told him you needed change for the tampon machine.

ANGELA: (laughs) Rickie!

RICKIE: What do we have, anyway?

ANGELA: Uh, I've got, like Bio. I think you're in Phys. Ed.

RICKIE: Oh, I never go to that anyway. My teacher would be more shocked if I did turn up.

(Bell sounds)

RICKIE: Well, it's English now anyway.

ANGELA: God, I- why is Brian in practically, like, all of my classes.

RICKIE: Fate?

ANGELA: Fate is a four letter word.

RICKIE: Yeah, I kinda learnt to count.
