(ANGELA and RICKIE look up, both look stricken)
FOSTER: Well, now. The second bell has gone, and you should both be in class.
ANGELA: Yeah, I'm sorry. I just...
RICKIE: Yeah, we didn't hear it....so....we'll just...go.
(ANGELA and RICKIE make to go)
FOSTER: Rickie Vasquez, you stay. I want a word, before you go off to class. (to ANGELA) You can go. You better not skip class again, or your parents are gonna be hearing about it.
(Exit ANGELA)
FOSTER: Now Mr Vasquez, though I don't know if that's an accurate desciption. This isn't the first time you've been told not to hang around in here, is it? (RICKIE says nothing) So unless you're getting some kinda sex-change I don't wanna hear about you in here again, or I'll arrange one for you myself! Is that clear ?!
RICKIE: Yes.
FOSTER: Don't think I've forgotten about you, Vasquez. I haven't forgotten about guns in my school, not one bit.
RICKIE: I just came in here to give her some change for the tampon machine.
FOSTER: I don't care. Go to class.
(INT.HALLWAY.DAY)
ANGELA: Rickie, are you okay? What did he say to you?
RICKIE: (smiles) The usual. Let's go.
