Brian is sitting in the second row next to Angela. Sharon is sitting up in the front row with her chair turned around, both girls are staring at Brian.
the Bell rings. Everyone starts to leave except Sharon and Angela.
Sharon: Krakow, what can I say, I'm impressed. After fifteen years you change hairstyles.
Brian:uh, thanks
Angela: your hair. It's like really dark.
Sharon: so, did your parents analyse this to death?
Brian: naturally. It's their dinner conversation for the month.
Angela: why'd you cut it?
Sharon: Angela!(nudges her in the side)
Angela: I liked it better before
Brian: yeah, well, too bad.
Sharon: Is this like, breaking out of 'prolonged latency'?
Brian: can we not talk about my hair?
Sharon: I bet your head feels really light now, you know, now that layer of wool is gone.
Brian: uh, kind of. Don't you have french?
Sharon: yeah. I guess. well, see ya.
Angela: bye
The room has emptied out, Brian gathers his books. Angela is still watching him.
Brian: don't you have... (realises that she doesn't have anything)
Angela: (smiles)no, I have a free.
Brian: right.
Angela: nice shirt
Brian: thanks. (turns around to push his chair in)
Angela: the tags up (tuacks the tag in)
Angela: would this have something to do with yesterday?
Brian: (a bit harshly) that's kind of obvious Chase.(silence) Look, I'm sorry I yelled yesterday. I, I just had this feeling yesterday. I can't even descibe it. It was I just that I felt I had to like, take charge, or something. and you know, I just can't be *that* person any more.
Angela:(looking at the back of his head,talking low to herself)you're changing.
A.VO:so Brian Krakow was changing,and all I could feel like doing was doing something to stop it. but I couldn't, because it wouldn't be right.
Brian:so I'm going to go study, see you.
A.VO: at least some things were the same.
