Chapter 13: Brian to the rescue

Patty opens the door to Angela's room and sees Angela, Jordan and Brian all sitting on the floor, books and papers spread everywhere. They appear to be studying.

Angela looks up innocently "Oh, hi Mom."
"Hi sweetheart,I just wanted to let you know that your Dad and I are home."
"OK, we've got a big test tomorrow on Act one of Romeo Juilette."
"All right, I won't interrupt anymore." Patty leaves.

Everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Angela breaks the silence first.
"Man Brian, if you hadn't come to the window when you did I'd be dead now."
"Well, I saw Jordan's car outside and then I saw your parents come home so I thought you might need resucing. And I was right.
"What were you like spying on us?" Jordan asked.
"No, of course not. I happened to be sitting in the tree in my front yard reading."
"You were what? You expect us to believe that?" Jordan said in a voice a little to loud.
"Keep it down. Do you want my Mom to come back? Its true. I've seen him there before." Angela said thinking back to to the night she came home from Let's Bolt in a police car.
"Oh. That is so strange." Jordan said.
"I'm outta here." Brain said.
