(RICKIE pauses outside RAYANNE's building. He rubs his neck, and realises that something's missing)

RICKIE: My crucifix!

(RICKIE looks at the ground, around on the floor. He starts back the way he came, eyes glued to the floor)

CUT TO:

(RICKIE re-enters the party. Still quite a few people, mainly drunk. He pushes through, eyes on the floor, making excuses as he moves through the people.)

(RICKIE'S POV: Looking at floor. Suddenly, something glimmers under the window sill. END RICKIE'S POV)

(RICKIE rushes forward, but finds the glimmer was RAYANNE's bottle top. He throws it down in frustration, and goes.)

CUT TO:

(INT.HALLWAY-LIBERTY HIGH. DAY)

(ANGELA stands at her locker. RAYANNE goes by.)

ANGELA: Ray-Rayanne...wait!

(RAYANNE stops and turns.)

ANGELA: Look. I'm sorry....I didn't realise...I mean, I realise now, that you were just trying to, like, do a good thing for me. And I, was wrong.

RAYANNE: God, you make me feel bad, apologising like that. Look, we're quits right?

ANGELA: (smiles) Yeah.

RAYANNE: Really? (really happy) Wow!

(ANGELA and RAYANNE hug. RICKIE walks past)

RAYANNE: Hey Vasquez! (RICKIE says nothing, keeps going. RAYANNE breaks out of the hug, runs after him.) Rickie! (ANGELA follows, at a loss) Rickie, what's wrong now?

RICKIE (angry, shows her his bare neck) This! This is what is wrong!

RAYANNE: It's your neck, so what?

RICKIE: I lost my crucifix last night, whilst I was hauling you home!

RAYANNE: Rickie...

RAYANNE: That crucifix was, like, the only thing I had from my mother! Nothing

RAYANNE: Look, I'm sorry-

RICKIE: If you weren't so plastered last night, this wouldn't have happened!

ANGELA: Rickie...

RICKIE: Angela...Look, I'm sorry. I just need to be, like, left alone for a while. Okay?

(RICKIE exits down the hall, turns the corner. RAYANNE and ANGELA stare after him.)

(INT.GIRLS' ROOM.DAY)

(RICKE sits in a stall (toilet seat closed), door locked, knees under chin)

(ANGELA enters)

ANGELA: Rickie? Rickie, are you in here? (She looks under door) Rickie, come out.

RICKIE: Angela. I'm sorry, this isn't your fault...I'm just-so angry right now. I need to be alone.

ANGELA: Maybe somebody found it. Like, someone we know.

RICKIE: Yeah, right.
