fans of abcs my so-called life, nervous that the low rated teen drama might get axed after its first season, organized a grassroots campaign on the internet to save the show. in its first week operation life support dispatched 400 emails with the message that life is worth saving. since then, the group has been bombarded w/over 300 email replies daily and a barrage of phone calls and letters. "most people get really emotional, saying stuff like 'dont you dare cancel the show. my kids are crying!' " said steve joyner, a san francisco writer who founded the group. operation life support hopes to raise $3000 to place an open letter ad in the new york times. until the shows fate is decided in may, diehards can bide their time with music from the television series my so-called life--11 tracks by frente!, sonic youth, the lemonheads, and more culled from angela chases record collection.
