Buffy...convince me

MSCL may be gone from the tv screen, but there are lots of good (and bad) new productions airing each week. Talk with other MSCL fans about your favorite shows or the shows you hate. Of course you can also discuss TV show DVD releases here.

Well I watched the S2 finale on friday, it was pretty good. I thought Giles was really good in this one, and Spike over Buffy's house was hilarious. The Buffy/Angel bit was a bit predictable, but it was still good.

I will be picking up S3 soon, probably after next check or so.

I loved Spike in the finale too - "You look so familiar..." "We met once...'Get away from my daughter'?"

And "we're in a rock band!"

Spike's scenes with Joyce are great - Lover's Walk in S3 has some funny interaction between them too.

And don't forget the main reason to love S3 - Faith!

Glad you're sticking it out and continuing with the series :D

You've been very quiet...have you bought/watched S3 yet? S4 is coming out in less than two weeks!

Heh oh yeah, I finished S3 a few weeks ago lol.

Anxiously awaiting S4, almost tempted to pick up Angel, not sure about that yet though.

I liked S3, I thought it was pretty damn good. The mayor was a great character. I enjoyed Faith and especially enjoyed Vampire Willow Image .

I have to say so far I have enjoyed the series thus far.

I love S3 too. Faith, the Mayor, Oz, ahhhhh. One of my favorite seasons!

Now is the time to start Angel S1 since you're at the point in the Buffyverse where AtS starts! Although I wasn't a faithful AtS viewer, it is a very good show. As I said before, AtS is a darker show with more mature themes (I still can't believe some of the things they got away with saying during S4!) - very compelling, especially compared with the other dreck on tv. Give in and join us!

Fnordboy,

Glad that you have enjoyed the series. Go for Angel, you won't be disappointed.

I loved the scene at the end of Season Two when Xander goes to rescue Giles:

Xander: "Come on I am here to rescue you!"

Giles: "No, you not really here they are just making me see things."

Xander: "Then why would you want to see me?"

Giles: "Good point, let's go."

:D

Best,

a good friend of mine has recently started watching my Buffy dvds. and though I thought that I was all alone here at school with no Buffy friends, they have begun to come out of the woodworks. my friend and I will be talking about the latest ep he has watched and then like 4 people will chime in with their opinions. it's fantastic. he's about halfway through season 2 and every time I see him I get all giddy and clap my hands, "there are such great things in store for you!" ha ha. because in my humble opinion, season 2 is my fav. with seasons 3 and 6 running up at a close second. if season 2 can't get someone hooked on Buffy, I'm simply at a loss.

it's so much fun to relive episodes and talk with a newbie fan. especially listening to their theories when you know what's coming up. he was talking about how hot Willow was in the season 2's Halloween ep. I simply smiled and said, "just you wait." ha ha.

That's awesome emmie! One of my friends recently began watching the Buffy/Angel series on DVD and now she and her husband are hooked. She said they had a friend who used to come over a lot and he often stayed for dinner, but a few times she asked if he wanted to stay for dinner on a Tuesday and he said, "Sorry, I have to get home in time for Buffy." At the time, she and her husband just shook their heads but she said they understand now!

My friend did her Senior Project on Buffy at her University. And yes, she DID get her degree.

I'm not surprised anymore at what you can study/do a thesis on these days! One of the schools I attended let people design their own majors!
