honestly i was extremely disappointed to see it was a only a t-shirt advertisement, i was hoping perhaps AU had some information they were going to pass on to us about the set.

Actually, I'm greatly reassured by the tshirt spam, because it's the first direct acknowledgement I've had from AU that my details are on the pre-order list. And yes, I was so overcome with joy that I ordered me a tee.

I'm way out of the loop here! What's AU and what's the shirt like? Can anyone fill me in?

...but, of course, that's JUST MY OPINION...

Ross from AU here (my password didn't work)

The shirt was offered to us this week from a vendor, and we thought you guys might like something that we could ship right away.

Jason and I will have another update out soon. BMG has finally finished setting everything up. But it has given us extra time to get more done with the bonus DVD.

I too was disappointed that it was only a t-shirt ad. But then thought, "Hey, I wouldn't mind
wearing a MSCL t-shirt 'round the place." Sadly, my hopes were dashed when I came to the
realisation that it's going to cost me $39.95 in shipping to Australia. <img src="/forum/images/frown.gif">

Do you reckon it's likely that we could order a T shirt to be sent with the box set (eventually) so saving some £££ (or $$$ if that's where you are)

Am I INSANE or am I just reading it wrong?

I too live in Australia, and it really does seem like AU wants to charge US$40 just in shipping for a Tshirt(albeit an MSCL tshirt) that itself only costs US$20.
That comes to about AU$115. It seems like a cool T shirt but...

I would like someone to explain to me who came up with that price!!!
And has anyone ever actually paid it?

The owls are not what they seem.

Indeed. I went through the same process - order the T, get all excited and realise that really things were going OK...
only to get to the shipping costs. I cancelled, repeated my order, thinking there must be some sort of computer error. then, I checked out their shipping chart and it is indeed $39 to send a t-shirt across the atlantic to sunny england...
Now, having received many many things from the USA in the past via snail mail, I KNOW it can't cost this much - maybe it's to do with priority international mail... but it puts the T right out of my price range. How annoying is that? Very.
I for one would rather have them ship it on a boat like surface mail goes, pay the US postage rates and risk it never arriving and potentially taking 6 weeks to get than pay this outrageous, prohibitive postage charge.

Or, one of you fans who lives in the USA could buy in bulk and ship to all us overseas fans, :-) for a small fee, of course...

"You can help me too" I said and gave them my TV...

The absurd price may have something to do with priority shipping and/or insurance. Either way, if I had a disposable income I'd still be apprehensive in paying such a price. :?

I spoke with the folks at AU and they are going to examine the t-shirt prices. However, they did add "in some cases, the prices to send the t-shirt to some countries is also extremely high."

Now, I am not overseas, and I have not placed orders from US sites from overseas, but I don't know what the "usual" shipping prices are.

Again, since it is not dvd-related, it is not really my area of expertise, but I have made them aware of the fact that the shipping cost seems quite high from some places.

Just so you know....

We're expecting the first shipment of shirts to go out tomorrow. Maybe that'll help people realize that we actually are a business and trying to get the stuff people want into their hands.

As far as the overseas rates go, sending it surface wasn't a option for AU, just due to tracking. For this, I can make some arrangements and get some ground shipping rates for some shirt orders, provided people are interested.

e-mail me at ross@anotheruniverse.com to let me know.

There's this special offer for people, they've pre-ordered the DVD-Set. I don't know if there's a demand, but why don't you pack the special offer shirts into the package with the DVD-Boxset. Especially overseas it would cost only once shipping, right? So it's only a matter of time.

I forgot, you have to warn that antsy guys, who wrote every second day: "I want my DVD-Set", about using this option!

The international shipping rates for the DVD Set, were estimated with a mock lunchbox and DVD Set (IIRC). Throwing a tshirt into the package may increase the weight, thus affecting the shipping rates, which have already been quoted to us. :?

Oh well...
