Celebrity quotes

Post by Natasha (candygirl) » Aug 4th 2004, 1:57 am

I love hearing the goofy things that celebrities say, so I thought we could have a thread dedicated solely to their off the wall quotes. Wacky quotes from David Boreanaz alone could go on for days.

Tonight I heard Ashlee Simpson say, "My dad is my father also."

This should be a stimulating thread...

I guess we're the only ones who think this is funny.

I have no shame. Next up, David Boreanaz! When asked to define hip, he replied:
Hip is like buttering an English muffin. An English muffin is hip, because it's so good.

Well, I don't care what the popular kids think, it is funny! And David Boreanaz is, um, uhh . . . deep?

She hasn't been doing much of late, but I like Geena Davis, so...
I have an elbow that bends the wrong way, and I'd do things like stand in an elevator and the doors would close, and I'd pretend that my arm had got caught in it, and then I'd scream, 'Ow, ow, put it back!'

I think it's that he lacks the part of his brain that says, "Huh?" or "Don't say that right now!" I have read some ridiculous quotes from him, most of which are hilarious in their weirdness.

ITA, he's so spacey it's actually cool, like going through the DuhSquared wormhole and coming out safely on the other side! Far out!

I had to google David Boreanaz to find out who he was (I didn't want to ask , in case he was someone I totally should have known. I recognize him as the character "Angel", but there is no way I would have known his name.) Ashlee Simpson seems like she might be on the path to rivaling her sister, although it's gonna take a lot more than just redundancy to do it.

Also, after multiple V. Mars reiterations, and finally a Deadwood movie, still wishing for some continuation of The Riches !

I agree that there is something cool about DB's wackiness. I like to interpret it as a lack of the usual Hollywood pretentiousness and preoccupation with seeming cool. It seems like he's silly and he doesn't care if that isn't cool.

Ashlee Simpson - I don't have the words. I thought Jessica was annoying (which she is), but at least I can sit through most of a Newlyweds episode and laugh at her cluelessness (as well as Nick's). Ashlee, on the other hand, seems like she needs a good smack. I guess it just goes to show how people react differently to similar situations - they were both raised by Creepy Pa Joe and they are both spoiled brats, but Jessica seems spoiled in the "oh, I'm a helpless girl" way that really means "I'm perfectly capable of doing this but I'd rather watch you do it for me" while Ashlee seems more the temper tantrum thrower. I couldn't believe the fits she had about her songs and her album and her rehearsals. If she wasn't the sibling of a celebrity, there is no way any record label would have put up with her prima donna attitude. In addition, she is not a very good singer which doesn't help matters. At least Jessica has a nice rack.

One can only guess at the context of this one:
If you think that by threatening me you can get me to do what you want... well, that's where you're right. But-and I am only saying this because I care-there's a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Not sure of the exact context but it was at a press conference. I caught it on the Chris Rock show as part of the Tyson for president segment. Still frighteningly funny after all these years.

Of course, comics are always churning out pithy qoutes but that one has more meaning for me than most.

That made me laugh, but I totally agree. The packaging is amazing, the contents is just packing peanuts. I don't know how Nick stands it. She looks great, but to having to live with that stupidity would drive me mad.

Not to go too offtopic, but " Creepy Pa Joe" That is so funny (because it's true!).

Ashlee is a tool, the way she is about guys is ridiculous. The way her mother has to do everything for her is just sad. Ugh, she bothers me*...and she can't sing.

*that said I would still hit it .... along with her sister**

**and make Nick watch.
