My girlfriend and I will be moving sometime in July. Hopefully it will be a smart move  Much cheaper rent, bigger place, but it is above my grandmother and next door to my mother.

The pluses definitely outweigh the negatives, I just hope they dont meddle too much into our lives.

 Sounds like the makings of a sitcom to me.

You're girlfriend is one brave woman. First, to be dating the likes of you, and now to be living next door to your family.

Well... at first I was going to add something about living in Jersey, as well, but I thought I would be nice.

A young couple I know made their first home in a small, run down apartment. The landlord kept promising to fix it up, but rarely followed through. Eventually they got sick of it and moved back in with family, shortly before the roof collapsed. A few weeks later they were driving by and noticed that the place had been completely refurbished. Turned out the married landlord was waiting for them to leave so he could move in his girlfriend. His wife found out, and now he will probably lose his shirt in the divorce settlement. Go figure.

Cool,

Glad you are getting more space for less rent. Hopefully relative interference will be at a minium.

Meanwhile in Lanceland...

I am about 5 weeks away from my big move. I have 80-90% of stuff packed, about half of that I have already shipped.

Moving

Post by lance » Jul 18th 2004, 6:26 pm

Tomorrow is the big day.

Time to head 'em out, move em out. I will try to give updates on the road, internet connection permitting, otherwise I will try and update you all on my travels across America's heartland, hopefully with pictures, when I arrive in Vegas.

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer.
You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?

Oops, did we warn him about the freak wind gusts on the roads outside of Vegas? High winds + boxy moving van = picking cactus needles out of furniture.

:yikes:

Lance, hope it goes well...

Reminds me of the time my uncle took my brother with him in a giant U-HAUL when they moved their family from Connecticut to Minnesota. They had a really good time being blokes and bonding over dreadful truck-stop experiences... I believe a snake featured in one :whoohoo:

I'll look forward to hearing about your trip, and new home!
