angel episode 20 spoiler

Post by hurtstolookatyou » Mar 9th 2004, 8:54 pm

from the spoilerslayer, also has been confirmed by other sources, although some are speculating it's a fake. spoilerslayer has usually been right though.
Episode 20

Flashback to Rome, Italy, circa 1894. Angelus and Spike are locked up somewhere. A representative of The Immortal arrives, and releases them. The Immortal sends his apologies for holding them, but their recent attacks on his people have forced this outcome. Angelus tells the representative that it's their city, they were there first. The man brushes this off, as The Immortal has been around for over 300 years. They are to leave immediately and never return, under pain of...

Death, which is what Angelus brings to the man with a quick snapping of his neck. The other guards put up a brave front, but end up running off after Angelus threatens them.

Later, Angelus and Spike are talking outside of an Italian nightclub (still in 1894). They are there to see The Immortal, about some blood vengeance. The bouncer is giving them a hard time, they aren't on the list. When they try to force their way in, they discover it's a magic list. If you aren't on it, you aren't 'invited' and can't get in.

Present day, Angel and Spike have travelled to Rome to pick up the body of a prominent Demon Capo. While in Rome, they discover that Buffy is dating The Immortal. Both are in disbelief, since she would never fall for someone with a dark past who may still be a bit evil (then both realize this sounds very familiar). Spike finds the answer, it has to be a spell. Angel agrees. So they'll get the body and rescue Buffy from The Immortal.

The woman they are supposed to meet comes in, with a duffel bag (or bowling bag). She hands over the Capo's body, and it turns out that it's really just his head. Apparently if brought back to Los Angeles in time, and the proper rituals are performed, the Capo will rise again.

With the head in hand, Angel and Spike head back to Buffy's apartment. Dawn greets them.

Spike and Angel in the present, cruising a nightclub in Rome. Angel is not thrilled to find out that there will be dancing involved. Spike calls over a bartender, and he and Angel start asking about a girl. Not just any girl, a blonde American with blue eyes. Ring a bell? Yes, they're looking for Buffy.

The bartender doesn't know who she is, until they mention The Immortal. This rings a bell, as Buffy is well known as The Immortal's girlfriend. She points off into the crowd, where all they can see is a flash of blonde hair. The girl and The Immortal are dancing up a storm.

Spike and Angel start to argue about who's going to go over to her. Spike thinks he should, since Angel can't dance. Angel just thinks Spike wants to take all the credit, but Spike admits he knows she'll never love him in that way. But he cares about her, and he doesn't want her to end up with someone like The Immortal, or Angel.

There's a gap. It picks up with Spike and Angel again asking the bartender if she's seen Buffy. (I'm guessing that during the argument, they lost sight of her). The bartender says she left with The Immortal, they drove off in his car. Angel and Spike leave, trying to figure out how to find her. They need the team, but they're all back in Los Angeles. Spike suddenly remembers that Wolfram and Hart have a Rome office.

Angel and Spike arrive at the 'Wolfram e Hart' offices, which will look extremely familiar, with an Italian touch. As they are getting their bearings, the CEO of the Italian branch comes out of her office. Ilona rushes over and greets them like old friends, even though she hasn't met them before. She's really eager to help them in their time of need. Perhaps a bit too helpful.

Back in Los Angeles, we learn that Roger and Trish have come to see Fred. Illyria can apparently make herself look and act just like Fred, and she's fooled her parents. In fact, it appears that she requested that the come and visit. Roger and Trish say goodbye to Fred, unaware of what has happened. After they leave, Wesley is very angry at Illyria for doing this. Illyria is pleased, she learned a great deal from the experience. Wesley tells her that she should never do that again, leaving Illyria even more confused.

Back in Rome, Alfonso and his gang have tracked down Angel and Spike. He mocks the fact that Buffy is now dating The Immortal. Angel and Spike think that they've been set up, The Immortal intended to steal the head and distract them. Alfonso laughs at this, The Immortal doesn't need men like him to do his dirty work. This was Alfonso's plan to steal the head all along. Angel and Spike have had enough, and start to battle Alfonso's gang. This goes on for a while, with a duffel bag (supposedly containing the head), being tossed from lackey to lackey. Finally, Alfonso has the bag and threatens to shoot the head if they don't fork over the cash. Reluctantly, Spike gives them the money. Alfonso tosses the bag to them and heads off.

The bag goes Boom

Back at the offices, a throughly shredded Spike and Angel are replacing their damaged wardrobe, thanks to Ilona. (There is a homage to the incredible reappearing duster, Ilona makes sure Spike will have enough to last a long time). But by now, Angel and Spike have had enough of Ilona's hospitality, they want their head. She brushes them off, saying that she has a specialist that will take care of the matter. She'll call them... and then ushers them out of the office.

(that's it for now. Comments tomorrow). Thanks to 'T' for the info, and the nightcap

It might be very difficult for SMG to fit an appearance on Angel because, while "The Grudge" (a film based on the Japanese horror series and films "Ju-on") may only have days to go before wrapping, they're shooting it in Japan.*

That may be the clincher, unless she shoots a single scene after she returns.
Well it seems the SMG will be on Ellen this Tuesday coming up. It seems a little too early for her to be promoting The Grudge, maybe she is coming on to promote being on Angel?

Yeah, I know a long shot, but what the hell else does she have to talk about?

More info on SMG's appearance on the AtS finale from tvguide:
Buffy's Angel Reunion Nixed
by Michael Ausiello

Bloody hell! This bites! This sucks! Whichever vampire pun you choose to express your feelings on the subject, the sad fact remains: Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be resurrecting Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Angel's swan song after all. As foreshadowed in this week's issue of TV Guide magazine, the in-demand actress' busy schedule was a deal-breaker. But that's only half of the story.

You see, Gellar wasn't asked to appear in the series finale, she was invited to return for the second-to-last episode (airing May 5). Unfortunately, when that hour was being shot, she was in Tokyo working on the supernatural horror film The Grudge and, obviously, quite unavailable. However, she was free to pick up stakes in the spin-off's capper (airing May 19). So why isn't she doing that installment? Executive producer Joss Whedon didn't want Angel's send-off to "revolve around a guest star," he says simply. "We will deal with the issue of Buffy and how much she means to Angel and Spike, but I want to end the show with the people who've been in the trenches together, the characters who have lived — and occasionally died — together... the regulars."

Whedon's Angel partner, Jeffrey Bell, adds that the idea of building the finale around the long-running Angel/Buffy/Spike love triangle "seemed to undermine the bigger picture. [So Gellar was left off the roster] in the same way that David Boreanaz wasn't involved in the series finale of Buffy." (Boreanaz did, however, appear in Buffy's penultimate episode.)

Before you start sharpening Mr. Pointy and aiming it at the execs' hearts, you should know that, despite their well-thought-out rationale, at the point when they learned Gellar was free to participate in Angel's last hurrah, it was too late for her to do so. "We had already written and shot the episode [for which we originally wanted her] which emotionally dealt with [the romantic rivalry]," Bell says. "So, to go [back] and force her into the very last episode to retread stuff that we already dealt with didn't make any sense.

"By the time it became a possibility," he goes on, "the ship had sort of sailed."

Fine. So, how then will this much-ballyhooed (by us) May 5 episode give closure to Angel, Spike and Buffy — not to mention Angel/Buffy and Spike/Buffy proponents — when the superheroine in the middle of the muddle will be nowhere to be seen? "Angel and Spike arrive at an understanding — that's all I'll say about that," Bell teases. "And without her being involved, Buffy's character has come to some sort of understanding, too."

After that, the vamp-dusting ghostbusters will forge forward toward their final showdown (a two-parter airing May 12 and 19). "We're gonna get to the bottom of why we've been in Wolfman & Hart this whole time and what we're gonna do about it," hints Bell. And, though he refuses to drop any clues as to who will be "left standing at the end," he does promise this: "It's gonna be big!" As Buffy might have replied, "Well, duh!"

Oh well, that kinda does suck, but there reasoning is valid in my mind. It would be pointless to go over the stuff dealt with in the episode before the finale(s), and it would smell of nothing more than a guest spot. Which to me the shows were never about (except the first season of Angel when he was trying to bring the Buffy fans over).

Maybe there will be a Buffy and/or Angel movie in future. Doubtful but stranger stuff has happened (Firefly movie).

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Charisma Carpenter, of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" fame, will star in a sitcom pilot that has received a last-minute order from UPN.

The untitled project centers on an uptight, career-minded woman (Carpenter) and her fun-loving brother (Tyler Labine). It was written by former "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" scribe Andrew Secunda. Labine's series credits include "That Was Then," "Dead Last" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch."

It seems to be coming together for the finale. The characters are firming up, and though I miss Fred, I like what they're doing with the despondent Uber-Smurf. Hopefully we'll be seeing lots of Darla and Dru, but relatively little of Connor.

I had no idea the show was ending till the last episode aired. It`s so dissapoining but seems like the right time for it all to end. I`m glad Buffy and Angel are`nt reuniting. I wantt o see Fred back to her normal self and as for Conner...I hope comes to some sort of resolution with Angel.

I laughed so hard when she said that because it reminded me of this scene in Triangle:

TARA: There's a world without shrimp? (Willow looks at her) I'm allergic.

I know what you mean Lance. Seeing a new episode of Angel after a six week absence made me realize just how much I will miss this show when it's gone for good.

I was thinking of Invader Zim:
One wormhole would have spat you out into a dimension of pure itching! There. See? You can't really tell but that stuff's really itchy. Another would've sent you to a dimension of pure dooky! New Whedon Series In The Works???
I am – Hercules!!

Only the Mighty Hercules could get this excited about Nick Brendon mumbling the word “brothers” under his breath.
If anyone at this Cleveland con was standing closer to the public address speakers, kindly write in and explain what young Nicholas was on about.
I went to the Cleveland Slayer Convention this weekend and thought you might want to hear some news.

Nick Brendon did a Q/A and let slip that Joss is working on another show. When asked what it was called he mumbled something like "Brothers" but then said he didn't know. He also said that a Buffy movie is going to happen it's just a question of when. I also found it strange that he mentioned a Buffy cartoon that has Allison, Anthony and him doing voices that might be picked up soon. I thought the Buffy cartoon was dead...?

Mercedes McNab said that Angel is dead as an ongoing series but she did hear about the TV movies. She even started to cry when talking about the shows end.

Anthony Head talked about Whedon and him doing a spin off called Ripper. He said that he and Joss talk about it every time they see each other. It is supposed to start off as a 2 hour TV movie.

Morena Baccarin said that the Firefly movie would start filming in June and that you would get more back story on Inara and Book. She also said that as far as she knows everyone is back for the movie.

Call me sally

'Angel's' Spike Makes a New Friend
(Monday, April 26 01:36 PM)
By Kate O'Hare

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - There was love (of the professional, not romantic, kind) blooming on the set of The WB's "Angel" during production for its 20th episode this season, "The Girl in Question," airing Wednesday, May 5.
After co-creating the drama about a crusading vampire with a soul with Joss Whedon and being an executive producer for its early seasons, David Greenwalt -- who also worked with Whedon on "Angel's" predecessor, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- returned to direct "The Girl in Question."

Although he and James Marsters, who plays Spike, the other vampire with a soul, had technically been on "Buffy" at the same time (Spike moved to "Angel" this season after the "Buffy" finale), the two had never met.

"He was writing when I was there in my first season," Marsters recalls, "but I was just a guest star, and I had no reason to go up to the writers' offices. I didn't go to the gods at that point."
The long-delayed meeting didn't appear to have been a disappointment for either man.

"He's so fabulous," Marsters says. "Greenwalt is just an exceptional director. I can imagine it's the same for him producing, too. He knows how to inspire people and get the best out of them. He's very decisive about what he wants to do, but up until that point, he's very open to people talking."

Greenwalt returns the compliment, saying, "He's really good. He's really gifted. He's an actor's actor. He sinks so deep into the stuff. It makes him a good guy, a good human. He's working hard on his stuff. Just watching him inspired me to two series ideas."

Of course, as "Angel" is ending this year, Marsters might be available for another series, and apparently it's something he's thinking about.

"We started talking about ideas that would be interesting for a series," Marsters says. "In about three days, we came up with something that was really fairly interesting. I don't know if it would fly, but it was just wonderful to feel the interest.

"Also, there were a couple of phone calls where I had a bunch of ideas the night before -- some of which he hated and some of which he really liked -- that we were talking about. It was wonderful to be in that kind of collaboration. I haven't had that since I was an artistic director of a theater. I like doing that."
In "The Girl in Question" (those in fear of spoilers should stop now), Spike and Angel (David Boreanaz) head to Rome, believing they must rescue Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) -- their mutual ex-girlfriend -- from their old nemesis, The Immortal.

"It's sort of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern go to Rome, two idiots," Greenwalt says. "Angel is going to send Spike to Rome to pick up the head of this demon. At the same time, we learn that Angel has had people watching Buffy and watching her apartment. He gets a call that she's in trouble. She's been seen in the company of this character called The Immortal.

"You learn, in the course of the show, that the Immortal has bested them down through the last several hundred years. He's cooler than a vampire."

All this information is revealed in flashbacks, which feature guest appearances by the two other women from Angel and Spike's past, the vampires Darla (Julie Benz) and Drusilla (Juliet Landau).

The one woman not seen is Buffy. Although hopes were high that Gellar could make a guest appearance, it couldn't be worked out in the end, so Buffy is only seen at a distance.

"Way across the dance floor," Greenwalt says, "you see this blond girl dancing .. this blond hair moving in slow motion."

Also making a guest appearance is former Buffy cohort Andrew (Tom Lenk), now an apprentice Watcher.

"What a funny, funny guy," Greenwalt says, "his little twists and turns he does. He walks in wearing a fabulous James Bond tuxedo in the middle of all this. It's so great.

"I was happy to do that episode. I felt I went out with a bang there."
