I got engaged!

Post by mglenn » Feb 16th 2004, 10:49 pm

Thats right lifers, your friendly neighborhood project manager went and got himself a fiancé.

I had her best friend invite her out to dinner. After dinner I left to use the bathroom  and ran out to the car and got the dozen roses that had been stashed there. Returned to the Restaurant and the wait staff gathered and started a procession to our table. They went up and made like it was her birthday and gave her a cup cake with a candle. Then when she was totally confused (her birthday is in December) they parted and I walked up and did the whole down on one knee thing. Turns out there was a Barbershop quartet at the restaurant and they saw what was going on and were there to sing to her after I had asked.

She was very embarrassed and quite red in the face.

Graham: And how much of you?
Angela: Dad!
Graham: Oh, I'm sorry! I asked a question about your life, didn't I? Woah, what came over me?

Nope. No date... She lives across the border in Ohio (bout and hour away) so till we get the job stuff squared and all that jazz we'll be waiting. But we've been dating for over two years now so we're use to the driving.

I'm into the whole wedding thing as Mr. S and I will be tying the knot on 5th June... the preparations are reasonably manic.

Well, good luck with the whole thing - keep us posted!

7 years for me and my boyfriend. My parents have almost stopped asking if we are ever going to get married. I keep telling them when it fits in with our schedule we will.

Heh, my mom just asked again this weekend. I was able to put her off for a while with the excuse that we had to wait until my boyfriend was done with law school, but since he is graduating in May my mom seems to think that we will get married the day after his graduation!

Congrads mglenn! :D

I did 5+ years of dating before it kicked the bucket a couple of weeks ago, but that's a whole nother thread. :? One thing I've been wondering about though. Will jewelry stores take back a ring a bought in November? I'm guessing they will, I'm not the first person in this position. Just haven't been excited to go do it.

Ahh yes,

I am familar with that. Locally we call it the I-275 trap (the interstate that rings Greater Cincinnati). Many have tried to escape, only to be sucked back in.
