Brainiac- i know exactly what you mean! Brian has some of the most hilarious moments.

"So, they're back together, huh?"
"Yup. But she's still gonna die someday. We're all gonna die."

This was always my favorite - right at the end of the "Pressure" episode. As she is riding a bike (I believe she still has Brian's), Angela says:

"People always say you should be yourself, like yourself is this definite thing, like a toaster, or something. Like you can know what it is, even. But every so often, I'll have like -- a moment, where being myself, and my life right where I am is, like, enough."

Words of wisdom from Miss Chase.

New guy here! :) I can't believe no one's posted "The Letter" yet! I totally know it by heart...

Dear Angela,

I know in the past I've caused you pain, and I'm sorry. And I'll
always be sorry, 'til the day I die. And I hate this pen I'm holding,
because I should be holding you. I hate this paper under my hand, because
it isn't you. I even hate this letter, because it's not the whole truth.
Because the whole truth is...so much more than a letter can even say. If you
wanna hate me, go ahead. If you wanna burn this letter, do it. You could
burn the whole world down. You could tell me to go to hell -- I'd go, if you
wanted me to. And I'd send you a letter from there.

Sincerely,
Jordan Catalano

There are some great quotes, and some great sentiments, this one always reminds me of darker days at school...

"My parents keep asking how school was. It's like saying, "How was that drive-by shooting?" You don't care how it *was*, you're lucky to get out alive."

of course i lean more for the Brian lines. it always seems he is desperatly searching out someone to talk to...and i love the way he awkwardly tries to explain things. It's classic!

Brian : Exactly. But the really great wallpaper, let's say, is like
totally out of your price range. So -- do you take the other
wallpaper, even though you don't let's say, really desire it
that much, or do you wait until the really great -- wallpaper
is -- cheaper.
Graham : Well, I guess it depends on how -- badly you need wallpaper.
Brian : I would say pretty badly.

i especially love Rickie and Brian conversations...if you can call it that.

Brian : I have to talk to you.
Rickie : Uh huh.
Brian : I mean...I mean I have to talk to someone, and your,
like, the only one left.

One of my favorite scenes in the series is the one near the end of 'Guns and Gossip', with Angela and Rickie in the car.

"It's weird how something has to happen sometimes, to see how you actually feel about something."

I can't help it -- I have to add another Brian/Rickie quote! This one's from 'The Zit'

Brian : I mean, people pairing off...into couples. It's like...I wasn't
expecting it, or something, like, like, did we cover this, was I
absent that day?
Rickie : You know I was.

This pretty much sums up dating angst from high school onwards! ;-)

Brainiac...i can't resist...here's another...

Brian : So you're saying I'm like someone's phase?
Rickie : Hey, I wish I was.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I also love that line about being someone's phase. I watched Strangers in the House again and a qoute I love is when Rayanne sees Brian talking to Sharon and Rayanne says," So..Girl in distress hurls herself on guy with no life huh?". Typical Rayanne...completely harsh.

So my feeling is, whatever happens, happens. K-man

you can't forget about the openning lines of "why jordan can't read", it was one of the lines that i really related with and really caused me to get into the show when it was on mtv:
"Love...is when you look into someone's eyes, and suddenly, you go
all the way inside...to their soul...and you both know, instantly.
I always imagined I would fall in love, nursing a blind soldier.
Who was wounded in battle. Or maybe while rescuing someone in the
middle of a blizzard, seconds before the avalanche hits. I
thought, at least, by the age of fifteen, I would have a love life.
But, I don't even have a "like" life."
It is so profound and beautiful, i love this show!

Brian: Is, um...is Rayanne...I mean, does she, like...is Angela, like...I mean, the thing is...
Rickie: Hey, Brian. Could you, like, pick a sentence and go with it?

(After Brian calls Jordan an idiot; from my favorite scene)

Angela: Don't you dare call him that! You don't know. You don't understand. Not for one second. You think you understand, but you don't! You just analyze everything until it barely even exists.

An absolutely classic line from the show (Episode "Pressure"):

"Sometimes someone says something really small, and it just fits right into this empty place in your heart." -- Angela

If the sentence stands alone you think it must be the most perfect moment in her life. Tragically it was the end of the brokeup scene with Jordan.

TOTALLY love that wallpaper scene! Of course some of the best Brian quotes are from 'Life of Brian.' I realise after typing all these that some of my favourite quotes are from his voiceovers. Entering into the mind of Brian...

'At Angela's house, they probably like laugh, and eat unbalanced meals, and talk about things that don't have deep symbolic meaning. They're probably like this normal family.'

'I became a yearbook photographer because I liked the idea that I could sort of watch life without having to be a part of it.'

'What's always amazed me, is fishermen. How they wait there forever, when something finally tugs on their line, they like don't panic. The strange thing is, even though I've established verbal communication with Delia Fisher, I still think about Angela. Constantly. Why am I like this? I truly sicken myself. I just have to stop being her little puppet; I vow to never again show up at Angela's door with some lame excuse'

'So maybe this is what people mean when they talk about, you know -- life.'

[backing out of the date with Delia to the dance]: 'Of all the stupid things I've said -- which are like countless -- I've never wanted to take something back more than that one.' [I was SO MAD when I saw Brian acting like such a cretin, but this showed he wasn't totally heartless]

'Okay, this is the simplest thing in the world. People do it every day. Just -- start a conversation. [to Angela] Wow.' [HILARIOUS!!!]

'There's something about my life. It's just automatically true that nothing actually happens.'

-- Angela
