Help! I'm new and I can't Quote

Post by Jody Barsch* » Nov 19th 2003, 12:29 am

Okay, Hello. I'm feeling pitiful, because as many posts as I have made (don't let the number next to my name fool you, I've been posting as a guest for a while) I have not figured out the super cool quote boxes - I just copy and paste. What am I doing wrong, and how do I do it right? Thanks!!!
Sometimes I write a little MSCL fanfiction: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1039807/Jody-Barsch
Also, after multiple V. Mars reiterations, and finally a Deadwood movie, still wishing for some continuation of The Riches !

There's a sweet little button over that way ------> and up ^

and make sure when you quote that you don't delete the code that makes it a quote. Which looks like this:
text that is being quoted is in between
"Your imagination, like a child, will explode with unrestrained possibilities for adventure."

There is some more helpful info regarding technical questions in the FAQ (click on the link at the top of the page next to the question mark that says FAQ). If you have any other questions, just ask!

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer.
You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?

To quote more than one person, I usually write out the code. if you type in this without the stars...

[*quote="candygirl"] If you have any other questions, just ask! [/quote*]

then you get this:
candygirl wrote:If you have any other questions, just ask!
and then you can make up random quotes too... like this (but of course I'd never do that)...
Nostradamus wrote: The pants command me!
I actually find that easier. You can copy and paste from the preview of the post that's below.
