Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept.....

Post by JPP13 » Sep 17th 2003, 7:03 pm

"Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will
not accept the nomination of my party, for another term as your president"

- LBJ

It has somewhat saddened me to see my several threads here blow up with 30,40 or even 50 responses, but my "Show" threads not even getting a sympathy post! So I'm announcing my retirement from the political forum. I argue too much in my professional life as it is. Everyone here is intelligent, with deep-seeded beliefs. I'm not going to change, nor am I changing anyone else. I've enjoyed the discussions but time for me to mosey back on over to the other side of the forum, for good.

I believe I have retired undefeated. :)

Awww. Bye :( I guess politics can be discussed globally, but TV show discussions are limited to those who can see them...

Anyway, thanks for kicking off so many interesting discussions. I've definitely enjoyed it, even if I did agree with you constantly :D you've given mglenn a springboard, and for that I think Andrewgd at least (and me) are eternally grateful.

Yup, sorry to see you go. But I understand. I hope you understand that I ment nothing personal against you or anyone with what I say and so I hope I did not offend you and apologize if I did. I sometimes get all riled up about this and can really let go on certain subjects.... But I've always enjoyed your counter points and argurment.

I leave you with this quote that I feel best says goodbye:

"Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, rising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!" - Pat Riley
"When I disagree with a rational man, I let reality be our final arbiter; if I am right, he will learn; if I am wrong, I will; one of us will win, but both will profit." - Ayn Rand

I know what you mean, JJP13. I wasn't going to post that much in this forum, either. But things come up that just scream to post about them. I try to keep things in perspective though. Nothing anyone writes in response to my posts gets taken with more than a grain of salt. I agree to disagree. See you in the other forums.

Patty: If Rayanne's not seeing you, and we're not seeing you, who is seeing you?
Graham: And how much of you?
Angela: Dad!
Graham: Oh, I'm sorry! I asked a question about your life, didn't I? Woah, what came over me?

Can we at least argue about the undefeated comment before you go? :whoohoo:

JPP13,

Your leaving this part of the forum?

I am sorry to hear that. Thank you for your insightful posts. Know that your are far, far from being alone in your views. I do understand that debating one's deeply held beliefs constantly can be rather tiring. Come back whenever you feel like it.
