$20 DVD Deposits. Answer to very common question.

Post by Jason R » Mar 14th 2002, 2:54 pm

Q: Why do we have to pay a deposit plus the price of the box set?

A: This is misinformation. here is how it works:

If you buy a $99.98 dollar set (consider it $100 for the purpose of this example)

1) You pay a $20 deposit. This basically stops people from pre-ordering more copies than they actually want so AU does not get stuck with 2x as many box sets as they can sell.

2) Box set is ready for delivery. You are notified by email to pay the balance of $80.

3) Receive the DVD set in the mail. Insert into DVD player. Eat a celebratory Hostess Twinkie. :-)

You have paid $20 deposit, plus $80 balance (plus shipping if overseas, or if in the US and you did not order during the free shipping period).

Total cost is $100.

*not* 100+20.

Hope this helps!

Hi Jason, I was wondering if those that pre-ordered via mail, is it possible to get a confirmation that deposit was received so that we can be assured that we are part of the 2500. It just would be nice to know that payment was recvd.

Thanks
R

If you have a bank that puts your statements online, you can check it that way. I knew my order was accepted because it cleared the bank in a couple days.

Trust me, you wouldn't *want* to eat twinkies! Do you know they have a shelf life of 50 years?!

LOL !!! Guess I'll stick to our yummy chocolate instead ---- I have tried Hershey bars and they taste like our cooking chocolate! LOL Aren't OREO cookies big over there (those dark things with white cream?)

Supposedly...although I could never see the big hype over Oreo cookies...they're not THAT good.

Mmm, chocolate..I'm a sucker for mint chocolate!

Hi Jason,

I can't thank you enough for all your hard work in making this box set a soon-to-be reality. You are amazing!!! :-)

Okay, bear with me here, sorry if you already answered this question. I placed a pre-order in February for $20. Should I be paying the rest of the balance now? Or will I receive an email when the DVDs are ready for shipment, later on, asking me for the balance? Should I have already been asked to pay the balance?

If I need to send the remaining $80 now, I will...I am just confused.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mmmm, chocolate mint! We just got our order of Girl Scout cookies - thing mints and tagalongs. Yuuuuum!

Joanna, if you REALLY want to experience a Twinkie, I'll send one to you.

Ding dongs are better IMHO.

I also like the Nutty Ho Hos - they taste good and the name cracks me up.

:p

LOL - what fun names you guys have for chocolate over there. I have to say, I have experienced alot of American 'candy' (we call them sweets over here) and I, um, didn't really like most of it - I do like Milk Duds (in the yellow box) and of course yummy Jelly Bellies (but we can get those over here). I also like MnM's in the blue packet (the crispy ones) because we can only get the chocolate and nut ones over here! Over here we jokingly refer to willies as 'ding dongs' - what do they look like over there?? LOL
