MSCL may be gone from the tv screen, but there are lots of good (and bad) new productions airing each week. Talk with other MSCL fans about your favorite shows or the shows you hate. Of course you can also discuss TV show DVD releases here.

Veritas

Hello all,

Good news my wife finally has her own show: Veritas.

I have only caught a couple of minutes here and there but it looks like a good show. Has anybody else seen it? What do you think?

Best,

Lance Man

I don't know the show either, but I noticed that "Veritas" is today's main story at thefutoncritic.com: it's close to being cancelled (the usual: low ratings).

"Veritas: The Quest"

All I know is that it's an Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider/The Mummy themed adventure centered around a father-son team searching for ancient relics. Like lance, I caught a few minutes which looked good, but my TV schedule has been too full lately to add anything new.

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.

That made me laugh, for "all you know" is everything compared to what I know about that show!

That is pretty much the jist I got. Stef (superwife) informs me that it is based off a book series. The show came on as a mid season replacement. It shows on Monday night at 8:00 EST (in the States). One of the stars is the guy who played the Mummy in "the Mummy" and "the Mummy Returns", I can't think of his name right now. I think he was originally from South Africa.

Best,

That would be Arnold Vosloo, according to The Internet Movie Database.

I never heard of this show, it sounds really interesting. I will try to watch it next Monday night, but knowing my luck with ABC if I like the show a lot they will attempt to cancel it. Thanks Lance for the info on this show.

Well,

Veritas got pre-empted last night by ABC's two and half hour special that followed Mr. Bush's speech. I have not heard if it will be shown this week or not.

Veritas got pre-empted again!

ARGH! How exactly is a mid-season replacement to have any possibility of becoming a regular series if the network doesn't show, the show?

Canceled

Post by Sascha » Apr 4th 2003, 12:33 pm

From theFutonCritic.com:

[...] the network [ABC] confirmed its hiatused drama "Veritas: The Quest" has been canceled. The axing of both series ["Miracles" is gone too] leaves only "Dragnet" left from the seven new dramas ABC launched this season ("Push, Nevada," "MDs," "That Was Then" and "Dinotopia" were the others).

Miracles is gone, too? I hate that network.

Well, at least they're consistent enough that you can still hate them eight years after they cancelled MSCL.
