The full poem goes as follows:

Once upon a time there lived a girl. She slept in a lovely little cottage made of gingerbread and candy. She was always asleep. One morning she woke up and the candy had mold on it. He fatehr blew her a kiss and the house fell down. She realized she was lost. She found herself walking down a crowded street, but the people were made of paper, like paper dolls. She blew everyone a kiss and watched as they blew away.

If you mean the poem I think then it goes as follows:

The first time that I went there
There was silence all around
And your street was almost empty
And the sun beat on the ground
And since then I keep on going
Something pulls me so I go
Though I don't want you to see me
I don't want you to know
For I know you'll never love me
I know you'll never care
But still I can't help going
For the only place I want to be is there
Yes There
Oh There.

'I Love you I Love you not' is a not very good film with clare Danes in it. Sadly I feel that since MSCL she has acted the part of Angela in every film I have seen that she has done (except R+J and U-turn), and while she was very good in MSCL, you begin to get tired of seeing the part copied again and again.

Yep - it's definitely from MSCL! .....where I think she is using the poem in class to refer to her Dad's nearly unfaithful behaviour? - she supposedly writes the poem when she is coming to terms with the fact her Dad might not be the honest and perfect person she thought he was throughout her childhood. MSCLers please correct me if I'm wrong because 'The Substitute' is one of the only two epsiodes I do not have on video! This is also the one where Sharon writes her poem about discovering sex with Kyle?? - and everyone is like supposed to think Ryanne wrote it.....or something!

Richard, I have to disagree with you, I thought 'I love you, I love you not' was a terrific film, I loved it, personally. Anyone else here think it was one of Claire's finest films?
