I made up an excel file so I can easily input new data from the log, but I don't have any webspace that I can post the picture of the fancy shmansy new graph to. Any suggestions? Geocities doesn't let you link pictures...

Jason's review talks up the video quality. I wonder if it's better than the first DVD? Although the sound was great, the video quality of the first DVD was quite poor -- very soft and lacking detail. I didn't believe it was a problem with the source material because I'd seen only months before MSCL broadcast on satellite here in Australia and those episodes, even after I'd recorded them to VHS tape, had superior visual quality.

So I assume the DVD transfers for episodes 4-19 in the box set look better, but what about the first three episodes? Did they use the transfer from the original DVD or make a new one?

All of the discs, to my knowledge, were remastered. I mean, they could have used after effects type stuff to make it look better, but I don't think this was the case.

Their source was digibeta. However, I do think that the quality of episode 1 is still somewhat lower than the rest. I think the color is a bit off. Many people, including MSCL experts, have told me that this is the case with the source itself.

Having had an AU order for episodes 4-19, this is something I've been wondering about. Is the box set DVD containing episodes 1-3 of better quality than the old one? I had the impression from early on that you'd just slip your existing DVD into the new box and it would be as if you'd bought the complete 1-19 set, with no difference in quality.

Not that it matters much for me now since I've ordered the complete set from Amazon.com.

I finally got around to parsing the mscl.com amazon dvd sales rank log into something I can easily import into excel.

HAHAHA. Yeah right. Lucky if I end up with a free copy of this DVD. :P

Seriously though, I'd rather not make light of the situation until people have the discs in their hands.

I guess you'll have to settle for the memories you'll always have of 2002 in lieu of the basket. You can't pay for those types of memories.

If there were any doubts about the success of the MSCL product...
