Some boards use a small graphic such as stars or pips to indicate posting rank, special status, or whatever.

Example:

Other than that, you can only measure yourself against the impossibly high standard set by Candygirl and take comfort in the futility of ever catching up to her.

As Candygirl already wrote: the postings ranks ("Tino", "Newbie", "Angela's best friend" ...) are already some kind of "award". I don't want to add more of this stuff because it will lead sooner or later to users just posting nonsense to increase their post count.

That's true.

Are the rank levels and respective post numbers somewhere on the site? I looked through the FAQ and tried to search for it, but to no avail. Maybe I missed it? Or, something to add to the FAQ? Or would this add to the "Frivolous Posting" possibility?
