Amazon Sales Rank

I think we also did this back in 2001 for the old set (can't find the thread), so let's do this again and see how far the set climbs on the amazon.com sales chart. It's probably the only indication we'll get to see how well the set is selling. Product Page.

Right now (10/23/07) it's at #77 in DVD, #8 in Boxed Sets Drama and #17 in Boxed Sets Television.

Update: I added a little script which checks the current sales rank (unfortunately only in the "DVDs" category) every two hours. You can see its output here.

(10/24/07) #106 in DVD, #10 in Boxed Sets Drama and #20 in Boxed Sets Television.

amazon.com just reduced the price for the box set to $37.99.
I don't know how long this price will last.

Apparently only about three weeks, because Amazon.com now lists the set at its maker's suggested retail price of $69.99. It appears that Shout! Factory no longer is offering volume discounts to such larger retailers.

Many far less expensive copies, though, remain available, "used and new," in Amazon Marketplace.
