Can someone tell me the name of this song?

Post by Angela » Oct 18th 1999, 8:17 pm

In the episode where Rayanne loses Angela's letter to Jordan in the museum, Jordan plays a song for Angela. It goes "I call her red". Can someone please tell me the name of that song and who sings it? I need that song!!

That song is called "Red," and it was supposedly written by Jordan Catalano about his car. I don't think it's ever been recorded elsewhere. You can find all the words to it under the "Jordan" character section of this website.

But later in that episode it plays the song, sung by someone else, so I thought another band might have recorded it...

Maybe. But if it's been released somewhere, I haven't heard. Most likely it was just recorded for that episode. I wonder if there's a web page someplace with all the music credits from the show...

Both versions of "Red" in that episode are sung by the actor who
plays Jordan (What's his name again?). I don't know if it was recorded
or released elsewhere, although I agree that it's a cool song.

His name's Jared Leto. Isn't he dreamy?

Actually, I found the info right at this web site
(look for the link for music info from "TINO"):

It says that W.G. Snuffy Walden wrote the
song. He's the guy who wrote and recorded
the theme music. Again, though, no info
about whether it has been released on CD.

Well, thanks anyway. I guess I'll just have to settle with listening to Jared sing it on my video!

The song is indeed by W.G. Snuffy Walden. It was written for the show and never released. We are currently working on getting a cover version of the song to post on the site.

PS. if you check the older posts on the board you can find the guitar chords for the song.

Jordan's Song "Red"

Post by So-Called Angel » Oct 7th 2002, 8:51 am

Hi Everyone,

In episode 7 "Why Jordan Can't Read" we hear the song "Red" sung twice. Now I know it's Jared Leto singing when Jordan sings it to Angela in the loft, but is it Jared Leto singing in the scene where Angela is crying in her room after Jordan stands her up? I like to think it is - because it sounds so beautiful - but is this just wishful thinking on my part?

Hope someone can clear this up,
Thanks,
Michelle :?

"Red"

Post by So-Called Angel » Oct 8th 2002, 11:01 pm

So I'm wondering why no-one has answered my question (above) and I've come to the conclusion that it basically comes down to 3 things:

1. Nobody knows the answer (which I find hard to believe).
2. Everyone knows the answer but isn't bothered replying.
or
3. The answer is so obvious that I, as a MSCL fan, should know it, and because I'm so stupid no one is going to tell me.

So, which one is it? Somebody, PLEASE tell me if it's Jared Leto singing "RED" in the scene where Angela is crying. The credits only mention who the music and lyrics were written by, they don't say who preformed it. I think it is Jared Leto, I mean, it sounds like him but I just want to know for sure.

Thanks,
Michelle

Well I made the leap of faith that since Jordan sang it to Angela during rehearsal, Bedford Falls wouldn't bother to get someone else to sing it as a voiceover later.

Besides, the voice singing "Red" sounds the same as the voice singing "I Wanna Be Sedated" which sounds the same as the voice singing all the songs on the Thirty Seconds to Mars CD.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's Jared. Then again, I have been known to mishear (if that's a word) - I thought PM Dawn was saying "I die without shoes."

I agree that it's most likely Jared. He has such a sweet voice.

*sigh*

And, I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that song was about his car!!! I....I....simply refuse!

Oh no, I've said too much... :D
