Winnie Holzman and Wilson Cruz in EW

Post by Sascha » Jan 22nd 2011, 1:45 pm

According to autostraddle.com Winnie Holzman and Wilson Cruz talk about the portrayal of gay teens in television shows in the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly.

Holzman: “It wasn’t even a problem with the network. The thing I got the most pushback about was in the pilot, when he puts eyeliner on in the girls’ bathroom. I remember I mentioned The Crying Game, which had just come out, and Michael Jackson wearing eyeliner [to convince the network]. So they went with it.”

If only the network had known that Jared Leto would be sporting serious guyliner a few years later!

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer.
You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?

 Awesome.

Wilson Cruz's talked about the role of the nephew on Ugly Betty, and Callie on Grey's Anatomy, I would have liked to have read his opinion on Kurt Hummel.
Sometimes I write a little MSCL fanfiction: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1039807/Jody-Barsch
Also, after multiple V. Mars reiterations, and finally a Deadwood movie, still wishing for some continuation of The Riches !
