Herskovitz to become president of the Producers Guild

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Filmmaker Marshall Herskovitz is in the running to take over as president of the Producers Guild of America, as Kathleen Kennedy prepares to step down after five years in office, sources said Monday.
He has been tapped by the guild's nominating committee to run for the post. Other would-be candidates have until May 12 to petition to run in the election, which will also decide other officer slots.
Ballots are set to go out May 18 and are due back by June 8. Results will be announced June 12. PGA officials declined comment on the election process Monday.
Herskovitz's recent feature credits include "The Last Samurai," "I Am Sam" and "Traffic."
