I am a HUGE fan of 30 Seconds To Mars.

I'd been a fan of Jared Leto as an actor since MSCL. I was aware he was a musician and had a band. But when I think of actors trying to make music I have bad flashbacks of when Eddie Murphy and Don Johnson tried to make records in the '80s. To say they were horrible is an understatement.

In late '06-early '07 I was going through a bad break-up. I heard The Kill on the radio and it really hit me. It pretty much was what I was feeling at the time. I know it's not a break-up song, but it totally fit my situation. Of course, the radio station moved on the the next song without ever saying who the artist was, or even the name of the song. I heard it maybe 3 or 4 more times until I finally found out the band was 30 Seconds To Mars. I was like, "wait a second...isn't that Jared Leto's band??" I've loved his music ever since.

30 Seconds To Mars 2008 Yearbook

Hey everyone,
I don't know how many of you have heard about this yet, but 30 Seconds To Mars has an opportunity to pre-order a 2008 Yearbook (they will be shipped on November 21st) for $50 on their website (it's $60 after the 30-day pre-order sale). Until August 15th, with every yearbook purchase, you can upload your photo to be put in the book. Just figured I'd spread the word about it. If anyone has any difficulty with getting the link to come up after you've ordered it, let me know. It didn't show up for me and I had to email MusicToday in order for them to send me the link. I figured it'd be something nice to have Jared, Shannon, and Tomo sign along with other Echelon (30STM fans) once they get back to the US.

Virgin Records sues Jared Leto's band for $30M

Fri Aug 15, 9:23 PM ET

LOS ANGELES - Hardcore fans of 30 Seconds to Mars aren't the only ones who want more of the band's music. Virgin Records has sued the group for $30 million, saying it has failed to deliver.

Virgin Records sued the band and front man Jared Leto in Los Angeles on Friday, claiming they refused to deliver three albums as required by its contract.

The band's last album, "A Beautiful Lie," was released in 2005.

A publicist for Leto, an actor who starred in the film "Requiem for a Dream" and the TV show "My So-Called Life," did not return a message Friday.

According to the lawsuit, the band "repudiated" a 1999 contract in July.

Despite the absence of a new album, the band's hit "From Yesterday" was deemed one of 2007's Top 10 "Hot Modern Rock Songs" by Billboard magazine.
