Now here's a movie I always hear about but have yet to see, so I'd be interested in your insights on this one, which Claire did around the same time as MSCL. The 1994 movie also features Winona Ryder, Gabriel Byrne, Kirsten Dunst, Christian Bale and Eric Stolz. If you want to check it out for yourself, the flick is slated to air Thursday, 1/17, from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on HBO Signature.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I think Claire does a good job as Beth. I haven't seen many of her other movies besides Romeo and Juliet, but I think that this is one of the few really good ones that she is in. I highly reccommend seeing it.

Don't forget that Jared Leto is also in this movie. I've never seen it, so I don't know how big is part is, but I'd imagine very small.

Is he? I've seen Little Women several times and I don't remember Jared being in it. Maybe I just missed him. Speaking of Jared Leto, I just saw the trailer for the new Jodie Foster movie Panic Room and it looks like Jared (or someone who looks very much like him) plays a "bad guy". Does anyone know if it's him?

DTheater, are you sure you're not thinking of How to Make an American Quilt, which also features Winona Ryder and Claire Danes, who are both in Little Women?

As for Jared in Panic Room, chosephine, you are absolutely right on that one. I looked up the info on Internet Movie Database, <A HREF="http://us.imdb.com/Title?0258000">http: ... 0258000</A> and Jared is listed as playing the role of Junior. I can't wait to check him out in that.

BTW, Little Women is slated to air again on Wednesday, 1/30, on HBO from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. Eastern time.

While I haven't seen all of Claire's projects just yet (as you can tell, I'm working on that), I really enjoyed her performance in this movie. In fact, the movie as a whole was definitely interesting to watch from the story of the sisters to the story of Jo and how she finally found her writing voice. If you haven't seen this one, try to check it out the next time it's on cable or the next time you're looking for a movie to rent. It's worth it.

It was so sad to see Beth die, but I enjoyed her childlike wonder when she was younger and the fun she had with her sisters. And the scene where she gets the piano is so touching. Claire played that really well. It's also odd to see her with such long hair, but then again, this movie is set in a different time period than MSCL!
