The press release is for R1. I've yet to hear anything about the other regions, but they can't be too far behind.
The Talented Krakow wrote:Btw that poster looks more like it could be a T4 poster then the T3 DVD cover, since T4 will be about the war between man/machines, and in T3 you only see a few seconds of this in the beginning.
I haven't seen the movie, but I'm not surprised by what you said. Looks like they went for anything dramatic and cobbled it together. Still, this art could be temporary; If final art comes in, I'll post it.

I didn't think any of the posters looked good, and the cover art is just as bad IMO. But hey - that's just me.

candygirl wrote:Hmmmm, think they announced the DVD release to balance out the fact that many theaters have stopped showing the movie? I know the theaters up here have pulled T3 - last weekend was its last hurrah in my area.
The windows between theatrical release and DVD street dates have been becoming progressively shorter and shorter as of late. It used to be at least 3/4 of a year, now it's six months (round about).

T3 and Matrix have gotten some ptrtty close release dates, and if you pick a flop of the newspaper (gigli, anyone), it'll be announced pretty quickly just to recoup costs.

In the case of T3, I think the release date was already set but they announced it more quickly than they might have since it's not doing well at the box office.

Edit to add: the german production company of T3 announced last week that it's "very likely" that T4 will be made even if Schwarzenegger wins the election for govenor.

NICE! Claire does a commentary, and the trailers are there. I'm a happy guy now.

(I wonder what "Revealing New Footage" means... hubba! hubba! 8))

Thank you for the new info!

Gary

p.s. I changed the title of the thread (hadn't dawned on me until you mentioned it). Didn't wan't it to be in a constant state of anticipation... :D

I think T3 has made over $200 million worldwide. Maybe it could have done better. But I wouldn't classify it as a flop.

From what I understand, T3 did very well at the box office, and the chances of a small re-release to cash in on Ah-nald's run for office is not out of the question.

The film did very very well, but it wasn't the full-on smash hit like Pirates of the Carribean (sic), whose longevity took everyone by surprise. Come to think of it, there hasn't been a runaway smash hit this summer, except for Finding Nemo and Matrix, which dropped off faster than I thought it would.

Looks like you were right about it not being final artwork.

I'm not sure which I prefer...I like the simplicity of the final one, and having the eye within the fake eye, within...etc...

But it could have been done MUCH better :?
