Speaking about mistakes...

I have no clue why my last post got bold typed and merged with GaryEA's quote.

Fixed it. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll try not to delete any more threads from now on. lol!

FYI: Whenever I try to use a smiley today, all of my text gets replaced, even though I never highlighted it. Weird.

In a bit of a disappointment, McFarlane Toys will NOT be doing an action figure of Claire's character or of John Connor. Two Arnie's, two of the the bad chick in skin tight leather.

However, the photos of one of the figures has Arnold carrying something rather striking, and could be a key plot point.

Click here for photos, but they may contain SPOLIERS.

As you were. :D

ACTION FIGURE SPOILER TALK

The coffin doesn't disturb me too much; with a Terminator movie you're bound to have at least a few hundred casualties, and that's not even counting the future segments. Besides, that could be a coffin full of weapons, like the guitar cases in the old mobster movies.

What does intrigue me is the designation T-850. What new features does this model have that the T-800 didn't? Stronger armor? Smarter AI? More leg room? Chrome fenders? Ooh, maybe the T-850 comes with standard On-Star navigation package:

"On-Star!"

"I need to find John Conner."

"Take a left at the next trans-dimensional portal, then proceed backwards for 25 years..."

Point taken, I was just wondering who might be in the coffin (read: a major character?).

I was thinking a built-in self-destruct so the need to destroy the robot to ensure it not leaving a stray arm lying around. Or, cup holders.

My take is that since they are making a figure of it it has to be a fairly major character. Otherwise I don't think they would go through the hassle.

But of course, I could be very wrong on it :)

I think her character is officially billed as "Non-cyborg hot chick", but I could be wrong ;)

Her character's name is Kate Brewster.

To add to what candygirl said, the T3 site says that she's John Connor's love interest in the film. I think she's a doctor of some type as well, but I can't remember.

Going back to the action figure; When McFarlane made the X-Files figures, they had a "cryo-pod" with a figure inside of them. So I'm pretty sure something will be in there.

My vote's on J.C. :D

I'm thinking Sarah Conner is the worm-food in question. Obviously, Linda Hamilton isn't in the new movie, and I vaguely recall that Sarah was supposed to have died sometime before the post-apocalyptic future, right? Of course, that doesn't entirely explain what Ahnuld is doing with the box...

Clair Danes Q & A | Premiere Magazine April 2003

The new Premiere has a short interview with Claire about T3.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD...

------------------------

A decade after John Connor and his mom saved mankind from Judgement Day in T:2, a new cybervillain has emerged on the scene, and this time he's... female. In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Claire Danes plays a veterinarian who joins Connor (Nick Stahl) and the original Terminator in fending off this terminatrix, called T-X.

Premiere: Tell us about your character in the film.

Well, she's engaged to a sensible but bo-rring man and leading a secure life until she's abducted by the Terminator. Then she's thrust into a terrifying world.

Kind of how you were thrust into this project? Replacing Sophia Bush [National Lampoon's Van Wilder] at the last minute?

I was hired very quickly. The next day, I got my hair cut, and in a matter of hours I was filming, which worked because my character was in a similar state of shock.

What was the stunt work like?

I did a lot of running and falling down and ramming repeatedly into walls. I got whiplash at one point. Kristanna [Loken, who plays the T-X] and I would compare battle wounds in the trailer. She always won.

What kind of things did you and Arnold Schwarzenegger talk about between takes?

[laughs] He gave me a lot of relationship advice, even when it was unsolicited. He told me I was too "code-dependent" on my boyfriend [rocker Ben Lee]. But the nature of codependency is such that it's equal.

And what was it like to work with him?

It took me about two months to realize that he wasn't this superhuman creature, that he has blood running through his veins, just like you and me. It's just that his veins are much bigger.

Before the Rise will be a prequel astory set just before the events in T3, while Eyes of the Rise will be a unique adaptation of the upcoming movie, presented in the T-X's point of view.
