Sarah McLachlan, Fallen:

We all begin out with good intent
When love is raw and young
We believe that we can change ourselves
The past can be undone
But we carry on our back the burdens time always reveals
In the lonely light of morning
In the wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
I've held so dear

Though I've tried I've fallen
I have sunk so low
I messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here and
Tell me I told you so
"I have all these dreams where I know exactly what to say. And you tell me, you know, that you forgive me."

A friend gave me tickets to her show in LA last month, it was really beautiful. I had forgotten how talented she is.
Sometimes I write a little MSCL fanfiction: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1039807/Jody-Barsch
Also, after multiple V. Mars reiterations, and finally a Deadwood movie, still wishing for some continuation of The Riches !

Last time I checked humor is an emotion too, so here's a few lines from The Terrible Secret of Space by The Laziest Men on Mars:
Pushing is the answer
Humans must be pushed
They must go down the stairs

Please go stand by the stairs
So I can protect you

Fash music video here.
I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure.
-- Clarence Darrow

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.

I love this thread. it's given me some ideas of bands to check out too! so here are a few of my fav lyrics:

Beth Orton "Don't Need a Reason"- Album Trailer Park

We only hurt the ones we love,
while we don't need a reason...

Dido "White Flag"-Album Life For Rent

I know you think that I shouldn't still love you or tell you that
but if I didn't say it well, I'd still have felt it, where's the sense in that
I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder or return to where we were but
I will go down with this ship and I won't put my hands up and surrender
there will be no white flag above my door, I'm in love and always will be

Coldplay "Warning Sign"- A Rush of Blood to the Head

a warning sign, you come back to haunt me and I realize
that you were an island and I passed you by
you were an island to discover

Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
that I've started looking for a warning sign
when the truth is, I miss you
yeah the truth is, that I miss you so
and I'm tired
I should not have you go

Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's musical episode "Once More With Feeling"
I live my life in shadow
never the sun on my face
it didn't seem so sad though
I figured that was my place
now I'm bathed in light
something just isn't right
I'm under you spell
how else could it be anyone would notice me
it's magic, I can tell
how you set me free
brought me out so easily
I saw a whole world enchanted

Indigo Girls "Love Will Come to You"- album Rites of Passage

guess I wasn't the best one to ask me myself
with my face pressed up against love's glass
to see the shiny toy I've been hoping for
the one I can never afford

"Joking"
you said the world was magic
I was wide-eyed and laughing
we were dancing up to the bright side
forget about your ego
forget about your pride
and you will never have to compromise

"Galileo"
How long till my sould gets it right
can any human being ever reach that kind of light
I call on the resting soul of Galileo
king of night vision
king of insight

and well, just about every other song the Indigo Girls have ever written.
