This is a funny time of year to revive this thread, but then I've been stuck at my computer working all weekend, so any distraction I'll take. I've always loved the darker, more somber Christmas pieces, from carols to stories to film. It's Wonderful Life is probably my favorite, but growing up my sister and I had a strange fascination with the Muppets' Don't Eat the Pictures (filmed in the Met) and Ed Asner's The Christmas Star. I also remembering repeat viewings of Santa Claus -- that's right, John Lithgow and Dudley Moore. Do these ring a bell to any other children of the eighties, or were we just watching exceptionally strange things in my house??

No holiday season is complete for me though without a screening of Holiday Inn and continuos play of John Denver's Muppets Christmas album.
