Miller's Crossing is my DVD pick of the week. It's a Coen brothers' film. It was released in 1990, and it is now available on DVD. It's a gangland/mafia type film. Gabriel Byrne, Albert Finney, Marcia Gay Harden, and John Tuturro star. Good, good stuff. Remeber, black is white, and up is down. Oh, it's also a movie about hats.

See now, I would have to go against this, not because I don't like Miller's Crossing, I do like it, but because Barton Fink was also released this week and IMO it is the superior Coen Bros. movie.

Well, with either release you are doing good. And what the hell, just get both :)

I haven't seen Barton Fink yet. But I will probably buy it soon. I saw Miller's Crossing on video over ten years ago. I remember it very fondly. It still holds up really well. I have a soft spot for gangster films. I rank Miller's Crossing with The Godfather Trilogy and GoodFellas. Oh, that's great news about Fargo. I can't wait until the special edition comes out. Fargo is one of my all-time favorites.

You should definitely check it out, it is a great film. The irony of this is that I've been waiting so long for the Barton FInk DVD to come out, finally it does, and what Coen Bros DVD did I end up picking up this week? Millers Crossing, lol. I hadn't seen it in atleast 7 or 8 years so I figured I would pick that one up (since I had to choose between the two....the list of DVDs I bought this week.... )

Great news about Fargo, though IMO it is the weakest Coen Bros. movie. Although most would give that honor to Big Lebowski <shrug> I like Lebowski alot.
