Just caught my first episode on the road last Sunday.

Very funny, very well done.

Unfortunately we don't get ABC off regular TV here in Santa Cruz. Gonna get Satellite on May 21st. Might just become a regular viewer.

Did anyone see the season finale this past Sunday? I watched the tape my dad made for my mother and me, but it wasn't long enough and the last few minutes were cut off. The last thing I saw was Mike pulling up to his house in his car, unbeknownst to him Zach had Teri Hatcher hostage waiting for Mike in his house. PM me if you saw it and don't want to spoil it for everybody, although it's already been aired and can't be spoiled now! thanks

That was it - they showed Mike walking into the house. I guess that's supposed to be the big cliffhanger. I knew that the DH finale would end up being a big disappointment to me. I guess Veronica Mars has spoiled me forever. The DH finale was just a bunch of exposition so that the characters finally got to learn what the audience already knows. The only thing that somewhat surprised me is that Mike didn't kill Paul. Big mistake considering that Paul had no qualms about killing Martha and trying to pin it on Mike. Here's hoping that the Lost finale tonight will be more interesting than this was.

The TWoP recaplet is up - the full recap should be up in a few days.

I totally agree with you CG. It was somewhat of a disappointment. But I guess thats what all Season Finales are - Cliffhangers. That way we will all talk about what we think might happen and tune in for next season. I really hope LOST will be great tonight - but I hear there is a huge cliffhanger for that too!

I think a good season finale provides some resolution/closure, but I'm generally okay with a cliffhanger if it's interesting. In this case, I didn't think think there was any resolution/closure to the DH finale - it was just another episode, and a pretty boring one at that. A good cliffhanger gets people talking and makes them anxiously await the beginning of the next season.

This "cliffhanger" was just meh. At this point, I don't care if Mike, Susan, or Zack die. It might even be a welcome change from the boring blah-ness that the show has become. Susan and Mike are both too popular to kill off, and although Zack is more expendable in terms of the fans, he is integral to the plot so I'd guess he isn't going anywhere either, which makes the ending a non-cliffhanger. At least if he turns out to be Mike's kid, that might bring some excitement or new plotlines to the show. Now that I don't have to record the show for my sister anymore, I might be done with it, which is too bad because I really liked the show at first.

I watched the first 8 or so episodes of DH after absolutely loving the pilot, then it became a bore. To hear what it has become makes me laugh. Zach kidnaps Teri Hatcher? Wasn't Zack the strange, quiet son of the dead wife? That show seemed to change completely from episode to episode. It was so promising. Well, I'm just happy that Felicity Huffman is on a show that lasts more than a season even if she's over-looked.

Technically, he didn't kidnap her. She had a key to Mike's house and when she went inside, he was inside with a gun. He held her against her will, but he didn't actually kidnap her. I don't think it's so much that the show changed from episode to episode but that it has been the same damn thing for months. Very little has happened, despite the fact that they had 23 episodes to go somewhere with the story.

I totally agree that this show has been a major disappointment. I was looking forward to a show to get my teeth into (TV has been sadly lacking in good drama, following the influx of 'reality' shows, in my opinion), and while it started well, I missed 3 episodes when I went to NZ. The death knell of this show for me was when I got back, watched an episode and thought to myself 'I just don't care'. I didn't find myself wondering frantically what had happened while I was away, and I couldn't bring myself to invest in it. Since then I have caught some half-episodes when I have had time, but I almost can't bring myself to watch it now. I think the problem is exactly what you said, Candygirl - the show just didn't seem to goanywhere while I was away, and it really should have. I also find that the only character I truly actually like was the one played by Felicity Huffman. Out of four main characters, that's not a good ratio.
