Dead Like Me and MSCL connections

Anybody else seen the show "Dead Like Me" on Showtime?
I saw most of the second season before I had to come back to school and I have the first season on DVD and have noticed some connections between it and MSCL.
1) Both main characters: female, teenagers, each on a path trying to figure out who they are in their respectative worlds
2) Both female main characters provide voiceover so the audience can know what the character's thought processes are
3) There is a scene in Der Waffle Haus early in the first season where George (Ellen Muth) and Roxy (Jasmine Guy) are talking and George mentions in her voiceover that she just understands somebody like " if their parents were both psychiatrists or something" I believe that is the quote but I would have to watch the episode again to be completely sure.
Both of Brian Krakow's parents were shrinks.
4) The original director of the pilot for Dead Like Me, Scott Winant, directed a couple of episodes of MSCL, Dancing in the Dark and So-Called Angels.
5) Finally, in the pilot of Dead Like Me, George's voiceover when she is doing laundry includes the part "this is my so-called afterlife"
Those were just some connections I found interesting between the 2 shows.
