Post by Natasha (candygirl) » Feb 7th 2004, 10:33 pm

News from tvshowsondvd:
August 24 is the official street date for Boy Meets World - Season 1. This will be a 6-DVD set with a reported list price of $49.99! Here is the notice that Buena Vista will be making public in the near future:
The people in the world of teenager Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) continue to test his theories about life and relationships including his girlfriend Topanga, his best friend Shawn, Cory's older brother Eric and his family in general.

Things get even more interesting in school where the ever-present and wise Principal George Feeny (William Daniels) continues to make Cory and Shawn's lives more challenging. Feeny, who still lives next door to the Matthews, has a unique way of always seeming to know what unpredictable antics the young men are up to. This first season introduces the characters, who are typical American teenagers going through the pains and pleasures of growing up. Boy Meets World - Season 1 includes the complete first season episodes plus:

Audio Commentaries
Outtakes
Deleted scenes
Behind The Scenes/Making-Of featurettes
"Where Are They Now?" retrospective

Boy Meets World DVD

Oh Cool. I was wondering if they were going to release it. The thing about that show is in the begining it was just a funny show about kids hanging out and then at the end it was all serious and about marriage and relationships. It went from Saved By The Bell to 90210-ish.

I agree - I used to watch this show with my youngest sister and it went from a cute ha ha funny show to Corey and Topanga wanting to elope and all kinds of other stuff. I guess they had to think of something to keep the show going for seven years though. I really didn't like Eric and Shawn turning into morons - if you watch the earlier seasons, they are a normal brother and best friend, which I much preferred. Anyway, you can view the cover art here.

Boy Meets World DVD

Thanks for the link. The cover art is kinda plain but I like it. It is so much better than the shauty artwork on the SBTB 3 & 4 DVD. Eric and Shawn did get moronic but with Cory and Topanga getting so serious I guess they needed someone to lighten the mood of the show!

Boy Meets World was a very cute show!
I do think it was a little annoying how they made Eric an idiot
when they went to college, but I kinda liked the relationship
stuff with Corey/Topanga and Shawn & Angela (that was his gf's name right?)
Corey was always so nervous and so madly in love!
Shawn was afraid to tell Angela how he felt--sort of like Jordan...

Anyways--how many seasons did it have, and why did they stop releasing seasons
at season 4?

In high school I worked as a cashier and a co-worker used to call me Tapanga(sp?)!!!! No one else, including my husband, thinks I look like her but it was still funny. This lady never even used my real name! Speaking of Tapanga, she's hosting a TV show now, I can't remember the name of it but I saw it flipping channels one night...it was in the format of "The Soup." Anyone know what I'm talking about??

There are the people you feel this unspoken connection to,
even though there's not even a word for it.
There's the people who you've known forever, who know you in
this way that other people can't, because they've seen you
change...

they've let you change.

It's actually Topanga, so I always assumed that she was named after Topanga Canyon since her parents are hippies.
