Not to be confused with tvshowsondvd.com (which is a great site!), the futon critic listed Amazon's top selling DVDs of 2003, many of which were boxsets of TV shows. Interesting that some of the shows/seasons that made the list were released in 2002 (Buffy, the Simpsons, etc.).

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Nearly one third of Amazon.com's top 100 selling DVDs of 2003 were television series according to a recent report by the online retailer. While "Sex and the City's" fourth season was the biggest draw of last year, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" saw all five of its seasons released to date land on the list as did "Angel," "Family Guy" and "24."

Here's a complete list of all TV-related DVDs that made Amazon.com's list (exact figures were not released). The original release date is listed in parenthesis next to each.

I miss "Firefly" on that list. I thought it was the #1 top selling dvd for days at amazon.com. Maybe it was a result of the late release date (12/09/03), but SatC Season 5 is included on the list and that was released on 12/30/03. Strange. Looks like "Firefly" didn't sell that good after all.
