2point4 Children - UK show

MSCL may be gone from the tv screen, but there are lots of good (and bad) new productions airing each week. Talk with other MSCL fans about your favorite shows or the shows you hate. Of course you can also discuss TV show DVD releases here.

2point4 Children - UK show

Post by fnordboy » Jun 17th 2003, 10:21 am

Ok, those on the boards that are from the UK are probably groaning at this point, everyone I ever mentioned this too just would roll their eyes   . but I don't know what it was about this show that I loved so much. Are there any other 2point4 fans out there? Anyone know how I can get my hands on a set of complete episodes...I highly doubt this will ever show up on DVD :(

This was a rather uneventful show, and I have heard it compared as the british Roseanne (which I don't find to be too accurate). You can find more info here:

I use to catch this show on a local Long Island station and instantly fell in love with it. Also fell for the girl on the show Clare Woodgate, who most of you will know as Georgina Cates since she changed her name a little while after the show.

If anyone has any eps on tape or digital please let me know :)

Anyone else ever watch this?

Yeah, I watched this quite a lot when I was younger. The earlier the episodes, the better; the newer ones tended to be a little ridiculous in terms of plot line.

I had a quick look about and I can't see a DVD release. The BBC shop didn't come up with anything and it's not on Amazon.

I quite liked it... it reminded me lots of my own family. If you like 2point4 children, you'd probably love 'My Family' which is a current BBC ratings puller. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to watch either of them but My Family is of the same vein and it's perfectly amusing evening comedy. Again, the earlier episodes were better (i think they're on to series 4 or so now).
