I just LOVE Babylon 5... A true fan !

Even more than MSCL !

I have ALL the episodes on tape. All the movies, all the Crusade episodes.

I even have all the books ! ( save 2 of them, but they are crap so.. ).

I was waiting for the first set to come out, but I lack cash at the moment :-(

We just bought our house, and the 4000$ Cash down severly caused us problems...

Another B5 fan, yes! (pumps fist into air)

Guest, I feel you pain on the lack of cash flow. Always, always something gets in the way of DVDs  (mortgage, car payment, rent, insurance, food)

Mglenn,

Thanks for the info and the great quote. I still love your play on words with the dialogue from "Severed Dreams". Brilliant.

commentaries

Hello all,

I just read up on some news over at http://www.jmsnews.com. Apparently one of the current controversies in making DVDs is cast commentaries. Actors want to get paid for their time they spend making them and the studios don't want to pay them.

According B5's creator there will be no commentaries by the actors who portrayed Londo and G'Kar, because they have bills to pay like everybody else and they would like to get paid. A definate bummer since their characters are so integral to much of what happened on B5.

Also actor Michael O'Hare (plays Sinclair) has no interest in doing commentaries, cash apparently was not the issue.

JMS will be doing 3rd Season commentaries on "Severed Ties" and "Zhadum".

Lance Man

I understand wanting to be paid (especially since someone - not the actors, mind you - will be making money from the DVD sales), but it would be nice if the actors would look at it as their way of saying "thank you" to their fans. After all, they don't get paid to be interviewed for magazine articles or talk show appearances - it's mutually beneficial for the shows/magazines (who get ratings) and the actors (who get free publicity).

Good point, maybe some of them may change their mind and do some commentaries anyway.

Some B5 Quotes on the subject:

Sheridan to Kosh: "Don't turn your back on me - who the hell do you think you are? Put your money where mouth is!"

"Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God. And if this ever happens again, Ivanova will personally rip your lungs out."

"You're so serious all the time. Not every conversation has to be the end of the world as we know it."

Heard during the commentary:

"How much longer?"
"One hour, fifty-seven minutes. .. Wanna talk socks?"
"No!"
"It's just a question."
"I'm not having this conversation."

"Oh. Not the one, no."
"Not the one what?"
"Not the one. Won't talk. Can't talk. Not the one. They told me, they did. Zathras listens, he does, yes. Zathras listens and does what he's told."

One of my favorite quotes is ( from season 1 )

Parent seeking the help of Kosh :
"So, will you help our son ?"

Kosh :
"The avalanche as already started. It's too late for the peebles to vote"

The quote is soooo cool. Especially since at first it doesn't make any sense, but that later it is almost the resumé of season 3 !!!

I am pretty I heard somewhere ( B5 or the books ) :

"Watch for shadows, for they move when you are not looking"

Which is equally cool !
