Buffy the Vampire Slayer

MSCL may be gone from the tv screen, but there are lots of good (and bad) new productions airing each week. Talk with other MSCL fans about your favorite shows or the shows you hate. Of course you can also discuss TV show DVD releases here.

From Kristin at eonline:
Proving it's his personal mission to star in all the best shows on the telly, D.B. Woodside, who last season moved from Once and Again to Buffy, is now in full swing in his latest role on 24.

"I'm playing Dennis Haysbert's [President Palmer's] little brother," Woodside said. "He hires me to become his new White House Chief of Staff."

And it sounds like little bro's personality will be very different from the Prez. Could he be eeevil? "I wouldn't say evil," Woodside said. "But I would definitely say I do whatever it takes to protect my brother's presidency, as well as him."

Hmmm...Do I smell the second incarnation of Sherry Palmer? "I think my character is actually more overt than Sherry. [Laughs.] Sherry is dishonest. He's very direct. He plays dirty politics, but he's honest about playing dirty politics."

How long will he be playing dirty? Well, we all know 24's spoiler security makes CTU look like Romper Room, so it's no surprise when Woodside says he can't reveal the length of his contract. It's also no surprise he's hoping to stay. "I feel bad saying this because of Buffy," Woodside gushed, "but I never had as much fun on a set as this. It's great, because everyone who shows up for work wants to be there. That should be the norm, but it's not."

Hannigan to play recruit at police academy

By JOSEF ADALIAN
Move over, Demi Moore: Alyson Hannigan is cozying up to your man -- sort of. The "American Wedding" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star has signed on to appear in at least two episodes of Fox's comedy hit "That '70s Show."...
She will be playing a fellow recruit at the police academy with Kelso.

Alyson Hannigan & Alexis Denisof were married this weekend!

You can view a photo here.

ETA - I just read the following:
Buffy star, Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow in the seven season series, has signed a deal with NBC to star in her own sitcom, starting in Autumn next year. Hannigan showed her comedic poweress as the band camp girl in the American Pie trilogy.

NBC vice president of casting, Marc Hirschfeld, said of Hannigan: "She has such a natural effervescence, she brought into 'Buffy' a real sense of humor to the role of Willow...we really think that this is the right time for her to try... comedy."

Hannigan is currently in constant talks with writers and is also reading scripts. There is nothing mentioned about how much her deal with NBC is worth.

I thought they married about half a year ago? Uh, maybe I'm confusing it with the engagement annoucement.

He proposed in late 2002, so maybe that's what you remember? They were too busy to get married right away since they were shooting BtVS, AtS, and American Wedding.

Rowan at MTS posted this today:
A fellow member of Little Willow's list posted the following link to a spoof documentary he made on Sunnydale, based completely on information stemming from Buffy. You can download it HERE(it's a Windows Media Player file, quite big, but worth it).
Beware - it's 20 minutes long so it's a huge file. I haven't viewed it yet (I'm waiting until I get home tonight) so I can't comment on it.

For all of you who are also fans of James Leary (and who here doesn't love the actor who brought Clem to life?), the short film Stunt C*cks, starring James L and Kirk Pynchon, is available for sale at http://www.stuntcocks-themovie.com/

This is the 15 min, or so, film that was screened at MR in June and had several hundred people laughing for its duration. It's available on VHS and DVD, and I've been assured that it can be viewed through the PAL system.

It's not for the faint-hearted, but is a really funny spoof on the porn industry. (I've just bought a copy for hubby for Christmas, and Mr. Cawks was really helpful with my e-mail inquiries.)
FYI - the cost is $15 plus postage and also features Lou Diamond Phillips and Ron Jeremy.
