I've always pictured Tino as older than the rest of the group, but since he still went to Liberty High, I saw him as a senior, left back either once or twice (like Catalano), making him either 18 or 19. I don't think he was as devastatingly handsome as Jordan, but attractive in his own way. His style would have been very similar to Jordan and Shane and the rest of their group.. that grunge musician look. He's mysterious and elusive. He's clever and wise, and more articulate than Catalano, but is still in Liberty due to apathy for school, shown by skipping class. He's the leader of his friends, and well-known by everyone in school, and even many outside of Liberty as well, like in clubs and bars and such. He's the kind of guy who knows where the party is, and can get you in. He's flaky and undependable, usually due to apathy and a "whatever happens, happens" attitude shared with Jordan. He basically always does what he wants, despite the consequences or feelings of others, which also contributes to being flaky... basically if something better comes along, he'll go for that instead, despite his plans with you. But despite this flaw, he's so likable and easy-going (except bouts of moodiness like with the Frozen Embryos) that one can't stay mad at him for long. I get the feeling that he can charm his way out of any situation.

Tino is friends with jordan and rayanne...he's probably latino and hawaiian and is a party animal...yeah he likes to throw parties and go to them...not very dependable though...he likes to skip school and owns a car...he likes halloween and does not appreciate people egging his car...he's chronically late, a bit of a 90's slacker like jordan and is the lead singer of the frozen embryos until he unceremoniously quits...he's a big fan of chinese food...whereever tino goes the party follows...probably doesn't have a girlfriend cos he's not a one woman guy...he's probably about jordan's age -17- and does poorly at school... :P

This is pretty much exactly how I've always seen Tino.

Let's see...

I'd have to guess Tino is extroverted, casual, lives for the moment, not a very deep thinker, doesn't care much about his grades,

He's probably drives a fast car and watches sports a lot, may have a group of "buddies" that he hangs out and does stuff with, but probably doesn't talk to them about personal or emotional topics (unlike say, the kinds of conversations Rickie sometimes has with Angela or Brian). I'm guessing he's also bored easily, a thrill seeker.

Maybe something like a lot of the minor characters who go to school with the main character in that book Ordinary People (I don't remember the book very well, but I thought there was a scene where the main character is in a car with a bunch of other people and thinks about how one of those people doesn't deserve the attention he gets from girls because of the crude remarks he often makes about them, and that character sings about a girl passing by "she's new, she's blue, she needs a screw", and one of the characters in that scene tells another one to "quit screwing around with the dial" of the car's radio and one of the characters. I imagine the characters in that scene as the type Tino may have some similarities to or hang out with, though I suppose that's not saying much for those who haven't read the book).

I can't really cite any evidence for this image in the dialogue, that's just the impression I got, somehow.

My theory:
- Tino has more of a punk rocker look (shaved, dyed blonde hair on olive skin, a couple of piercings in each ear and probably his nose/tongue also).
- Not as classically handsome as Jordan, but women are drawn to him because of his bad boy aura.
- Someone mentioned Wooderson from Dazed and Confused - this is exactly as I see Tino. An older guy (probably in his early/mid 20s) who hangs out with the high school kids because they give him the respect and admiration he craves.
- More eloquent/intelligent sounding than Jordan (who is a mate to him), and much more level headed than Rayanne (who's basically like a little sister. I suspect they go back a long way, maybe even to her childhood).

I definitely think Tino has got to be much more lively and extroverted than Jordan -- with a quick sense of humor, but that's all I can really deduce from what's given to us in the show. I imagine him as smart, not necessarily academically successful, but quite able to be if he so chose. I take him to be a bit of a prankster, and with some amount of insight and empathy (giving people rides isn't the best example of this, but it's a part), with a bit of a temper (trashing the drum set), and impulsive (quitting the band, leaving Rayanne, always breaking plans).

I've been picturing Tino as a Ryan Gosling. Also that he and Jordan have been buddies for years.
