I laughed out loud when...

MSCL is very much a dramatic show. and many of our favorite quotes are poignant and heartfelt, mostly about the hardships of coming of age. but then I remember some of the humor of MSCL, and it just makes me smile. I'm not one that is prone to laugh out loud at books or movies, but sometimes you just can't help yourself.

one of my favorite funniest moments is between Rickie and Brian in the episode Self Esteem. they are sitting outside the school and ranting about their life. Rickie is upset because the drama teacher called him Ricardo, and Brian is mad at Angela for asking for math help. seemingly, they aren't paying a bit of attention to the other until the end. it's just a really funny sequence, and a great bonding moment for the boys.

Rickie: He didn't even see the difference between Enrique and Ricardo!
Brian: Who's Enrique and Ricardo? I mean, look at all this work I have to do. I mean, I could spend the entire weekend, like, like without meals -- even then, I probably couldn't get it all done.
Rickie: I mean, they're two *completely* different names.
Brian: I mean, I cannot believe what some people will ask other people to do.
Rickie: So, you're not going?
Brian: Well, I *might* stop by.
I LOVE IT!

Also the scene in "Dancing in the Dark" in Brian's kitchen:
Rayanne : All right, so what's it called again? A volvo....
Brian : A volumeter.
Rayanne : And what's it do again?
Brian : It measures pressure.
Rayanne : Yeah, but like, what.? Air pressure? I mean, there a lot of pressures.
Rickie : Acupressure? Emotional Pressure?
Rayanne : I mean the mouse itself must be under pressure.
Rickie : Oh, that would be cool for an experiment. Figure out what the mouse itself, like what goes through it's mind.
Rayanne : Was it hard to get it in there?
Brian : Shut up! Just shut up.
Rayanne : It was just a joke. You should measure your own pressure.
Rickie : So, the mouse makes pressure, just by breathing?
Brian : Yes.
Rickie : I can relate.
Rayanne : But why are you....I mean, what is the point?
Brian : It proves, ummm, it's a system that's been devised... and...there are certain scientific principles that....it's for extra credit.
(ah, the never failing power of those two words: "EXTRA CREDIT")

See the "Fun Poll" I believe on of the questions asks people's favorite humorous moments.

my 2 "laugh-out-loud" moments

First off Emmie, I remember that scene with Brian and Ricky talking with one another and not listening to a word of what the other person was saying. I always flash back to it when a friend and I are doing the same thing, you know venting about a boy-friend, while whomever I'm talking to is upset and yacking about work, etc.
The other most funny moment I remember was the episode when Rayanne finds Sharon's mom's hadcuffs and gets herself locked to the bed in Mr. and Mrs. Chase's room! There's Brian beside the bed with Rayanne yelling "it's too big, it won't fit" as the football team is walking down the hall after borrowing the bathroom!

My favorite part in the series is when Rayanne tells Angela that Jordan will be stopping by to give her a fake I.D. in "Dancing In The Dark". Angela says, "Well did he (Jordan) act bored or....?" and Rayanne says, "He flopped on the floor uncontrollably, okay? Rickie had to hold down his tongue...." and Rickie comes in with "...And I wasn't even there!" There's just something about the way they say it that makes me laugh every time!

yeah, Rickie had a good sense of humor. it's too bad that he wasn't given more opportunities to express it.

i totally agree with 'mylifeisbrians' the "he flopped uncontrollably on the floor" scene is a lol moment. angela's burst of laughter at rayanne & rickie is so natural hehe.

My favorite LOL moment is the one when rickie and brian are watching the "sexual help" movie that fell out of Angela's bookbag (sharon gave it to help her out with jordan catalanto) and Brian says "My parents have a vibrator, It sounds like a lawnmower". . . I crack up EVERY TIME!

I love it when when Brian and Jordan are talking in Dancing in the Dark (I think)

"isn't this supposed to prove she's 21?"
"yeah..."
"well, according to the date she was born yesterday"

or something to that effect.

I think the episode I laughed at the most was "Weekend". I always laugh when Angela's trying to distract Mrs. Cherski.
Camille : Oh, I left something up in your mom's room so I'm just gonna go get it.
Angela : Oh, I'll get it for you.
Camille : That's all right.
Angela : No, I want to.
Camille : Why?
Angela : Why? Why? That is so exactly the point. Why? Because of respect... for elders, which I just feel is totally lost in, like, today's world. So, what did you need?
Camille : It's not important. I'll get it myself.
Angela : Oh, I've got to talk to you.
Camille : About?
Angela : ...Justice.
Then there's also:
Angela : The point is, do I have to keep a top that I truly don't like, just because I'm beyond the 30-day exchange policy? I mean, is that justice?
Sharon : Why are you, like, obsessing over this?
And, of course, the already mentioned scene where Kyle sees Brain standing over Rayanne who's handcuffed to the bed. Then, Kyle turns and sees Angela, Rickie, and Danielle, in the corner, watching and eating Cracker Jacks. Funny stuff.

WHO ARE YOU?!?!?

I just saw "Resolutions" the other night and completely lost it when Mr. Kastimski starts yelling at Patty for letting Rickie leave. Graham comes in after Angela introduces him to Patty and has no idea who he is. So Katimski is screaming at Patty, Patty's crying, and Grham is like, "WHO ARE YOU?!?!?" The look of confusion on his face is priceless!

In The Substitute when the Chases are at the dinner table and Angela says, "Finally. An adult I can look up to." And Patty and Graham just stare at her, obviously thinking, "what about us?" and Angela goes, "What?" and they, in unison, answer "Nothing." I laugh every time I see that exchange. Both the timing and delivery of the lines are perfect.

This is a great one! Graham is such a great character and Tom is such a talented comedian.
