Cyrano is in love with Roxanne but refuses to confess his love. He expresses his feelings by writing love letters to her for Christian. Sound familiar?

A few more literary references to add to the list:

1.9 - Charles Dickens (not clear which book - Miss Lerner refers to "Mr. Dickens' world of dark factories, grey skies, lost souls" which could be a Tale of Two Cities, Hard Times, etc)
1.10 - Pippi Longstocking (Astrid Lindgren)
1.12 - Lord of the Flies (William Golding)

Two more literary references:

1.2 Redbook
1.2 & 1.9 Batman (Rayanne and Danielle refer to Catwoman, who was originally in the Batman series)
1.5 & 1.7 The Wizard of Oz (Frank L. Baum)

I realize that the validity of these additions depends on whether you consider Redbook or comic books to be literary references, but I figure that anything you can read is literary. As long as we don't start including "side of corn muffin package," I'm good with Redbook & Batman being on the list :D

1.5 Seventeen, Mirabella, and American Gal (all three are magazines in Patty's room that Patty and Camille flip through while discussing the fashion show and the poll - in the next scene, two girls in the locker room look at American Gal, which, I should mention, is not a real magazine :D)
