Question about art in WJCR

Post by Nostradamus » Dec 5th 2002, 3:55 am

Do we know anything about the paintings and sculptures at the art museum in Why Jordan Can't Read?

I realise there are too many to identify them all, but it might be revealing to know more about the pieces that the main characters took an interest in, or those that were prominently displayed in the background of the dialogue scenes. Also, museums are usually organized around their different halls and rooms, so perhaps someone can figure out what periods or themes the characters are wandering through. I can't be sure, but it looks like at least some shots were taken in a real museum (in LA? which one?) rather than a dressed-up set.

Everyone's been having some good discussions about hidden metaphors in the show, so along those lines I'm wondering if the writers/directors coordinated the actors with the art for dramatic effect. Anyway, that's my theory, but I don't know enough about "art with a capital A" to confirm it. Is there an art historian in the house?

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.
