A quintessential Angela-Jordan moment

Hey guys...I have always found this moment in Why Jordan Can't Read to be hilarious. I love the dialogue. It is a quintessential display of Jordan's somewhat oblivious, yet optimistic way of looking at the world, and Angela's intensity, and her downright goofiness around him. I love it!!! My favorite lines are in bold.

Jordan : You know those guys...up in the mountains? [inching closer to her]

Angela : What guys? [inching closer herself]

Jordan : Who make snow...like, as their job?

Angela : Oh, yeah.

Jordan : [long pause] I would really like to do that.

Angela : [pause] You mean, part-time orrrr-

[they kiss]

8) I was just thinking about that scene and wondered if anyone else loves it as much as I do. Can't wait to see it in crystalline DVD glory!

I love that scene too!

And of course the lines that follow:

Jordan : Sorry.
Angela : For what?
Jordan : Uh, I, I interrupted you.

Why? Probably because it shows that Jordan remembered what she said the first time he laid one on her.

Ahhhh, l'amour!

This is the way I find this scene hilarious.

Jordan : You know those guys...up in the mountains? [inching closer to her]

Angela : What guys? [inching closer herself]

Jordan : Who make snow...like, as their job?

Angela : Oh, yeah. (I mean.. what guys? Are they famous? I didn't know.)

Jordan : [long pause] I would really like to do that.

Angela : [pause] You mean, part-time orrrr-

[they kiss]

I just didn't get it. Can anyone explain it to me or is it not supposed to be understandable?

I didn't get it either, and I didn't think it was particularly funny.

I think the most hilarious part in that episode is where Angela is asking Jordan out.

Angela: "Oh, yeah, but um, the thing is....this is gonna sound so weird. My parents are kinda like from the Stone-Age, but, um, they have to meet you. Before."

Jordan: "Before what?"

The line is classic Jordan. And his expression is perfect.

I'm sorry for moving this off topic, but if you want to talk classic 'Jordan' moment, here ya go...I mean, c'mon, talk about dense...

Jordan : Why are you here?
Brian : I live here.
Jordan :Is she really from, uh, France?

LoL...Ah, Jordan...and this is WHY we love him...

But, right, anyway, back to classic Angela-Jordan moments...

Rickie, Rayanne, and Angela are at the lockers. Jordan
approaches]
Jordan : [to Angela] Can we -- like go somewhere?
Angela : Sure. [as they walk away, Jordan takes her hand]

Oh, jeez...I love that scene. No WONDER I am, like, the worlds biggest Buffalo Tom fan...and am MADLY in love with that song. *Swoon* if only I had a Jordan Catalano. Um, preferably, my Jordan would be able to read. And his name wouldn't be Jordan. That would be too weird to write...
Jordan Lurves Jordan:shock:
LoL!!!

The episode, I think it was "Guns and Gossip" when Jordan says that, "We dont mean that much to each other." (After peole were speculating about them having "COMPLETE SEX".) That part always makes me so sad, because I think something like that has happened to everybody at one point.

"COMPLETE SEX."

That always cracked me up. I was always like "as opposed to.... INcomplete... sex??" ;)

That was funny about the "what guys? are they famous or something?" reaction. I was wondering that too... but i think that's what so funny. What do you mean "are they famous?" Hello, this is JORDAN talking. Angela has no idea what guys he's referring to. I don't think there are guys in the mountains that make snow, he probably just heard that from somewhere (probably from Tino the unreliable. LOL) and got confused. hehehehe

But i think that's what's so great about this moment... it doesn't feel like it was painstakingly scripted to be sweet and perfect, it didn't even really make sense, but that's what made it feel real. Real life's full of these weird little moments that end up being perfect and beautiful. :)

That's exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks :)

Just out of curiosity: KrokRos, do you remember what verb was used in the Swedish subtitles for Jordan's line "Who make snow...like, as their job?" Göra? I'm not sure, but I think that in the Finnish subtitles the line was translated so that Jordan referred to people working in downhill skiing centres or ski resorts maintaining the slopes -- and as a part of that artificially making snow with proper machinery.

Well, I hope this helps! At least that's how I got the line/scene.

I don't know, but I always thought Jordan was talking about the people who worked at ski resorts and ran the machines that generated snow so you could ski even if it was early in the season. :)

But if you look at it in the LOGICAL way, it suddenly is no longer a Jordan Moment.
It makes too much SENSE to be a Jordan Moment.

I think that there is a lot more to Jordan than meets the eye. He's got a lot of potential, and obviously words have not been kind to him (meaning, he has trouble articulating and formulating his thoughts and ideas into words) and he did not grow up in a household that offered much support or love. I think he's just a soulful and misunderstood creature. (Although, he does tend to misunderstand others as well, particularly Angela, making him a typical teenage boy as well.) ANYWAY, that scene about the guys who make snow, it IS classic Jordan, because he's trying to say something that makes sense in his own deep way. And sharing it with ANGELA! *swoon!*
