Jerry Goldsmith Enters the Final Frontier

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Academy Award-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith, who created the memorable music for scores of classic movies and television shows ranging from the "Star Trek" and "Planet of the Apes" series to "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Dr. Kildare," has died. He was 75.

He leaves behind quite a legacy of music. The Star Trek credits won't be the same...

That is really sad. I loved his scores... his versatility was amazing. :(

This sucks! Is anyone still alive??????? He did the music for one of my all time faves....RUDY....RUDY....RUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the soundtrack as well as the VHS. Bummer!
