So far I haven't received any invites to give out but I've already told someone they can have an invite and they said they will also make an invitation available here. I'm not sure that I'm ever going to get any invites though. It's been almost two weeks and I still don't have any.
There seems to be a freeze on invites right now. No one that I know of has gotten any new invites in a few weeks. I don't know why. I need some more :( so they better hurry up.

How does that work? Do you have to actively fill out surveys and questionaires, or is it more like an automated feedback thingy?

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.

You can go and leave any comments: feature wants/needs, comments, congrats, or dislikes. It is like a mail form. Nothing mandatory, but some people believe that your giving feedback helps give you invites. Personally I have only giving a few feedbacks and continually get invites.

OK, so how exactly do the invites work? I like the sound of g-mail, but I still don't quite get how the beta trial works.

Every person who has gmail gets invites to send out to their friends to invite them to join gmail. It is actually ingenius from a marketing perspective. They got the hype built so high from using invites, and even more so by making them scarce every now and then to get people in a panic.

Basically, I would send you an invite so you can join. You would join and after a little bit of time you would get invites to send out.

Basically it is the same as beta testing a videogame or and LARP or whatever. You use it, find things you like or don't like and tell them about it. They might use your suggestions if enough people bring it up. Of course you don't have to make any suggestions or give any feedback, it isn't a requirement.

If you want an invite PM me wiht your email addy and I will send one your way, I only have a few right now though.
