Have you ever heard somebody say or do something, or read a quote, that left you sitting there in stunned silence? I did, today, while reading Time.

I was going to make this part of my sig, but I just had toss this out there.

"Sundance is weird. The films are weird - you actually have to think about them when you watch them." - Britney Spears, pop singer, at the Sundance Film Festival

So if you were wondering why "Crossroads" was the cinematic equivalent to a "light read", there you go.

Wow she is even stupider than i first suspected. I wonder how Christina Aguilerra feels about Cannes?

Or how she thinks "Cannes" is pronounced

Or what she thinks "Cannes" refers to (seen her album cover?)

Britney Spears,

Yeah, Britney's publicist should probably shorten the leash on her. Like so short she can't speak to the press.

Why, then we wouldn't get such entertaining quotes!

On a similar note, I heard this yesterday on CNN:

Reporter: "Well if Iraq is not allowing U2 flights over its country, how did we get these satellite photos?"

Expert: "From satellites! They fly much higher than U2's."

I stood there with a dumbfounded look on my face, fully expecting the reporter to ask: "And has there been any comment from Bono on the banning of his music in Iraq?"

its a strange world we live in these days

I want to find more Spears-isms, they are almost as entertaining as Bush-isms....but nowhere near as entertaining as Quayle-isms <sigh>

How about the news report in the UK that apparently...

Claudia Schiffer was advised by doctors to give birth by cesarian following an injury to her foot.

WTF?

I once heard my aunt tell a guy that had pissed her off that she was going to "...stick my foot so far up your ass you'll have to swallow to get it out!" So I suppose that if you were pregnant when attempting such a maneuver you might require a cesarian.

Also concider that my aunt is only 5ft and maybe 110lb's.

Almost lost my tea on that one. Well, that and the Cannes thing.

From what I understand, Spears annoyed a lot of people during Sundance because she and her gal pals always left in the middle of the movie (a big no-no at film festivals).

I just keep wondering why the hell she was there in the first place. Ah, fame.

I'm still looking for great quotes (aside from everything seen on The Onion). I'm loving yours as well!

:D
