Did anybody else just lose TNN?

Yeah, I know. Odd topic.

But you know what? I'm 40 minutes away from the tenth anniversary episode of Raw, and the channel just... stopped. Star Trek started, Riker barked "Red Alert", and then it went black. A minute ago, a commercial aired, and then it went to black again....

I'm in Jersey (that would be New Jersey for all of the overseas readers) and have Comcast. Anybody else having this problem?

Gary

(I'm gonna be pissed if I miss Raw...)

Maybe the red alert caused your blackout? Or Riker has magic powers?

Don't you joke! When Riker says "Red Alert", the sh*t hits the starboard nacelle in no time!

That man means business.

That is why cable sucks it.

Get DirecTV your life will be better (and you will have more money).

Isn't Raw, like, wrasslin'? :?

Why yes, young scribe. It 'tis wrestling. :D

(Actually, it's more like long speechs and self-promotion, occassionally interrupted by actual wrestling matches)

The show was a bomb anyway. Instead of doing a solid retrospect of the tenth anniversary, they had a mock awards ceremony, complete with statues. I guess it was a grand excuse to pull out all the footage, some of it was classic stuff, but it fell flat.

As for Direct TV; I don't have the cash right now. Tonight's snafu was isolated - only TNN disappeared, and it looked like it was from their end.

And remember that in the movies, everytime Riker gets command a ship it ends up getting destroyed.

So maybe he was just a bit late in realizing that Romulans were attacking the headend!

It's not Riker's fault that Starfleet makes those starships so fragile.

DirecTV is cheaper than cable with hundreds of more channels. There is no excuse

I had so many problems with my cable co (Riverview Cablevision) that I had to switch to satellite. Most of the local channels were static and barely watchable. Horrible service on pay channels. Went to satellite 2 years ago and would never go back, 20 dollars cheaper overall and a lot more channels offered, can't go wrong there.

I bought a satellite for my folks back in '94 when they were first available here and back then you had to buy the hardware. I spent $963.00 for the dish/rec./install etc. Then I started paying for programming. Brutal! DSS has it's advantages over cable, except for the ultra-annoying feature that every time a show goes to commercial, it is either for DirecTV pay-per-view or Bowflex. :x And every time it is humid or raining/storming you lose the picture. I love commercials!!!!!! I know....I'm sick, sick, sick!!!!!!!!

Ya careful there fnordboy, I work for a cable company! Although I can understand your plight as you were a sub for a smaller cable provider. Theres a cost to update the network to handle more channels and services. But once that cost is payed I assure you that cable can provide far more services than the dish can... But then service is an issue and many of the larger cable companies only care about the bottom line and so service is sacraficed... where as service is a priority here at the company I work for and instead my salary is sacraficed!

Mike, are you sure about offering more than Satellite? And no Bowflex commercials? :D Wow, I wish I could get that kind of cable here. One problem.....cable is STILL not available at my folk's house!
