Time for a Bulk Mail?

Post by ClarenceWorley » Aug 30th 2002, 10:54 pm

With the release date announced and everything heating up, would it be wise to send out a bulk email to everyone? If not to let them know what is going on, but what's due to happen in the coming weeks.

I know many people who don't frequent the forum and would very much appreciate receiving some news via an official source (and not relayed via me).

I dunno, just an idea.

Yeah, I didn't start coming here until a few months ago and when I came here it was like 'uhh..' just because there was a lot of stuff that I didn't really know about... like explanations to things and other inside stuff. Other than that I would always be waiting for an email to let me know whats going on.

Now would be a good time for mass e-mail updates with details of the final phases of the order like shipping charges and confirmation of mailing addresses. However, this would only be helpful if AU could provide 100% accurate and up to date information, a herculean task for them.

Greetings, Another Universe customer!

We are are happy to announce that your order has been manufactured and is ready to ship! We'll send it out as soon as we recieve your shipping and handling charges, which amount to $100,000.76 U.S. ($120,000.77 Canadian). I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.

That reminded me of a shipping confirmation I received from cdbaby.com, though, turned on its head slightly.

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, xxx.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

bulk mail should also ask everyone to check their credit cards and forward them to the customer service page if they find a problem.
